One of the oldest places in the city. It used to be a roman forum but now it's a nice place in the center where you can chill after a long walk. They organize exhibitions inside during the Journée de patrimoine in September

If you like Roman History then you will enjoy this but many people will see just a big open under ground space. The person working at the front just seem disinterested and waiting to go home. The attraction will take 15 minute to visit. The do have some good concerts during the weekends on the outside.

Amazing old ruins with good descriptions in English of the various parts. It's free to enter and you could just spend a few minutes if you want.

We went by the cryptoportique to see some ruins. It was nice in the middle of a plaza but there isn't much to see. It would be nice to have a glass of wine there.

Not a lot to see. Nice and cool being "underground".
If you are into Roman ruins then maybe it is your thing.

I had never even heard of a cryptoportique before. Its location at the Place du Forum places it right in the heart of Reims with wonderful shops, cafes, and the Museum of the Vergeur all around it.

There was not a lot here in my opinion. Everything is only in French. It is free and worth a look, if you are in the area. You can literally walk through it and take a look in 5-10 minutes. There is a lot of history there. If you speak French, it would probably be more interesting. But still worth a look.

We were here in April and had to stay for three nights instead of the intended one, due to the SNCF strikes. Looking for extra things to see to fill in time, however two of the sites touted on the tourist official website weren’t open. Porte Mars is still under wraps. The Cryptoportique was on the list to see but was closed in April and not open until May, then closed in September. Don’t understand why such a significant site is closed for 7 months of the year. Surely you can do better than this Reims.

An excavated area near the town centre that is the remains of an old Roman crypt and nowadays is used as a small ampitheatre and other local uses. Wasn't open on our visit but had a nice open square with fountain & seating, looks good !

We walked past this place, which is in the city centre. There is little to see, but it is free to enter, when open!
