Great classic cars held here
Jun 2019
Classic cars from the early XXth Century exhibited, some others from 60s thru 80s. Many motorcycles exhibited, many of them classic ones. There is also a room exhibiting collectible cars, too. A toy store in place, as well as toilettes. It is not a large museum as others I have seen of this type, but the walk to get there was indeed worth it. I mostly liked the early 20th Century collection. Full access fee was €$9,50.

Great for kids

We really enjoyed the museum. It's not overly interactive - but the cars and bikes are beautiful to look at. Our son really enjoyed seeing all the old cars and "baby cars"

So I didn't expect much when we went here in the rain, but OMG, the number of cars and motorcycles they have that I've never even seen before! Hardly anyone there. Only 8euro and I was a happy camper.

Decent museum

This is a decent motor museum but it is more like a private collection then a museum. There is a large collection of mostly french cars. The really old ones are interesting there are a few 70’s and 80’ Peugeots that I don’t see the point of. Its a bit of a mish mash to be honest. The condition of the cars its generally poor covered in dust and some rusty and some complete wrecks that I assume are awaiting restoration. There is the odd exception like the gorgeous Renault Alpine of course they had a VW bug I swear every car museum has a classic VW Beetle. The only thing I didn’t like to see was every car has a horrible Riems Automobile Museum sticker on it. It really ruins the cars and there is no need for it, also i don’t see the point of the dresses up manakins
There is also a large collection of toy cars and model cars which was nice.
The motor bike collection was ok but again the condition of the bikes was poor
You only need about 30 to 45 minutes to see the whole collection and I’d say the entry fee is a little too much but if rusty french cars is your think you might enjoy it more then me.

Fantastic collection of vehicles

We arrived for the afternoon opening at 14:00. The lady on the desk was very helpful and gave us lots of good info regarding the collection and its history. Around an acre of covered museum- vehicles from the early 1900 until fairly recent models. They have wonderful examples of early (mostly French) vehicles, some of which are extremely rare.,

Classic - must see for fans of ancient cars
Jun 2018 • Couples
Ample parking at the museum's inside yard, venue is not overrun with visitors but definitely worth a visit. Lots of old-timers from 1908 onwards, racing cars from the fifties and sixties, old fire engines - we used about an hour to get through everything.

Fun for car or motorcycle enthusiasts

I really enjoyed my visit to the Auto museum. So many interesting and fun cars dating back to the 19-teens, and many automakers that we never saw in the USA. I really like the sports cars: the Fournier Marcadier and the Alpine Renault specifically! The shop has some really interesting souvenirs, both model cars and other items. It's a 20 min walk from the Cathedral or the Basilica, and about the same by bus from Gare Centre.

Interesting Museum

Good way to spend a couple of hours. A bit of a walk out of the main city centre but definitely worth it. Lots of different cars, dating back to 1910s and some interesting mannequins in the displays. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the progress of technology.

Unexpected museum find in Reims, France
Oct 2017
After touring the usual historic sites in Reims, my husband spotted signs for the Musee Automobile. It was a bit of a walk, but worth the effort if you're interested in old automobiles. A large room smelling vaguely of oil and old autos is lined with cars back to the earliest vintages, most of them French make that we weren't familiar with. It was fun to walk along the rows, noticing how the auto design changed over the decades. Most of the cars are well preserved and cared for, with information posted by each one. There was even an old police cruiser from Lafayette, Louisiana. Plus a set of motorcycles.
