Totally brilliant. Art Deco - writ large. All aspects carefull preserved. Just stand or sit and admire. Design, building, windows, lights, stairs, even the walls and floor. Good leaflet available. Friendly staff. NB they close for lunch, very French!
Entry free, do look in all the roomes you can, creep silently into the Reading Room.
Just behind Cathedral or follow signs.

This is a wonderfully decorated library well worth a short visit. The building, the little garden in front and its location makes it a easy 15 min stop while visiting the beautiful Reims.

The library was holding a special art exhibit in the lobby. We also saw a photo-op of a card-catalogue room (something to show our grandchildren). BTW, the basement has a free very clean bathroom and a 4o cent coffee or hot chocolate machine--it was reasonably good especially for the price. It was a nice low-key visit after seeing the cathedral.

Stunning example of Art Deco building sponsored in the 1920s by the Andrew Carnegie Trust. The exterior has is elegant with delightful touches, but full of rich detail and beautiful ornamentation. There are gorgeous mosaics in the entrance hall and the reading room has stained glass windows that do not dominate.

This library is so close to the cathedral that it would be a pity to not pay it a visit when going to the church. The entry room has a fantastic chandelier, its walls have amazing mosaic scenes surrounded by very fine marble, and the reading room has stained glass from the early 1900s that creates a wonderful sense of the times. Even the card catalogue room is a thing of beauty, with parquet floors and wood cabinets that are gorgeous. Be quiet, though, because this is a working library with studious patrons doing research. Your visit can be as short as fifteen minutes. And it's free.

Lovely little art deco library built in Art Deco fashion by the philantropist Andrew Carnegie to repmace the library in the city largely destroyed when tbe Hotel de Ville was bombed in 1917.
It's a very pretty understated building that definitely worth a stop for pictures or a visit.

Stop by to admire the exquisite Art Deco chandelier and stained glass windows. It's free!! Take a photo or two! And you can even use the quiet reading room to do research, surf the web, or read. This is not one of those big attractions where you tour -- only two rooms (catalog and reading rooms) are open to the public. But it is a gem of a building, with a lovely little garden. (Toilets downstairs are clean and free.)

Spurred on by the reviews we went to the Carnegie as we have visited numerous other such libraries. Very disappointing. Unhelpful staff, not really anything to see, not the sort of place to spend any longer than 5 minutes.

The Library is small but very beautiful and if you wish to isolate in a quiet area to read, entrance is free even for tourists/visitors. No free Wifi unless you are a regular visitor though.

It won't take long, but there is lovely art deco lights, windows, and mosaics. They have lovely restrooms in the basement.
