This is a nice little hotel next to the central station within 15 minutes walking distance to the city center . The hotel personelle was very friendly and helpful. We had a family room which was well furnished.

Good clean simple and friendly place in a good location right by the old centre. Perfect for our one night family stopover on way to euro tunnel. Superb breakfast!

One of the sightseeing points in the Reims walking trail are the roman ruins known as Mars Gate. It is a substantial piece of roman architecture and is remarkably well preserved. You can't fail to find the Mars Gate if you have been to the large covered market as the Gate is behind the market and close to the tram line and broad boulevard. After viewing the Gate take a stroll down the boulevard towards the Reims train station and from the station go left to connect with the Place Drouet which is a pedestrian area with lots of restaurants with outdoor seating. If you continue on through Place Drouet you will reach the main shopping street (the tram line runs down the middle of the street) where you will find Galeries Lafayette and other well known stores.

That's about all it is good for....There's nothing else there....And it was covered and still being restored in late 2016.

This widest remaining Roman Arch in the world, from 3 AD, is well worth the short visit needed to come and gaze at this historic monument. Beautiful.

If you're not interested in ancient Rome, the Mars Gate, which dates from the 3rd century AD, probably won't be of much interest. But for the rest of you, it is definitely worth a visit. There are three arches all by their lonesome on one side of a little park, and the stonework is badly worn, and there are unfortunately no sorts of plaques to tell you what you are looking at, but it is still a set of Roman arches and evocative of the Roman presence in this area.

This was located right across the street from our hotel. Very interesting to look at. Also it appears to have what I surmise as bullet holes in it. So you have history from Roman times and WWI?

This beautiful old gate, one of the last bits of Roman Reims above ground is wonderfully preserved (or restored). I returned at different times of day to see in different light.

An impressive Roman city gate on the edge of the city centre. Little remains of Reims classical past now but it is worth getting up close to this monument

Porte de Mars is an ancient Roman arch in Reims, dating from the third century AD. You can see some beautiful carvings in one segment of this widest arch in the Roman world and it can be easily visited your way to the Notre Dame cathedral.
