Great tour with 2 (YES TWO) glasses of champagne at the end. Our guide spoke excellent English and told us about the great business woman Veuve Clicqouot-Ponsardin and how inspirational she was in the male dominated champagne world of her time.

The Tour in the Footsteps of Madam Clicquot-Ponsardin was one of the highlights of our trip to Reims. The grounds of the property of Veuve Clicquot are absolutely immaculate. Our host Hayrton, regaled us with the history of how Champagne was made and of the...More

public transport to houses? (2 Replies)
Hi, I would like to check any public transport to go to CHAMPAGNE G.H. MUMM, Maison de Champagne Taittinger & VEUVE CLICQUOT-PONSARDIN. During mid of Oct 16, is the harvest season over yet? Looking forward for your reply. Thanks in advance.

Harvest will definitely be over but this will never effect the large commercial houses as they have plenty of staff to entertain visitors. All of the houses you have mentioned are within walking distance from each other and the railway station.

Day Trip to Reims - Which Champagne Tour is Best (8 Replies)
My family and I will be in Paris in late March and are planning a day trip to Reims. We'd like to take a tour of one or two of the champagne cellars - but with limited time and two young children (7 and 9) in tow, we cannot take in them all. Any suggestions as to which tours are the best? Maison de Pommery? Mumm? Piper-Heidsieck? Ruinart? Taittinger? Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin?

My husband and I specifically took a day trip from Paris to Reims to champagne taste - but once we saw the awesome Notre-Dame de Reims we were overwhelmed. It is the cathedral where all the Kings of France are coronated and it is spectacular. We spent several hours there. And then the downtown Reims is old and quaint and I had researched the places to go like the Biscuit shop and chocolate shop. We spent another 2 hours there. By the time we had lunch at the 3 Michelon star retaurant there...More
