    A must see in Reims
Our tour guide, Justine, was fantastic...very knowledgable, professional, fun and engaging. The cellars were spectacular with great props, antiques, technology and heritage. A great experience for the champagne expert or beginner.
Dear BPaddick, We are delighted you had a fantastic experience with our guide and enjoyed the spectacular blend of history and technology in the cellars. Whether a champagne enthusiast or beginner, we're glad you had an enjoyable time. Look forward to welcoming you back for more memorable moments! Cheers! VCP Team

    Perfection
How do you perfect what is already perfection? There’s no need because this tour was fantastic. As a group of seven we toured the cellar and vineyard at Veuve Cliquot with Justine, our educated and trusted guide. So many takeaways and learnings about Cliquot’s history. Having the opportunity to walk in the vineyard a week before the grapes were to be harvested was just a dream, and the tasting of three champagnes was delicious. Loved every minute of the 4-hour experience and would highly recommend!
Dear J3283IOsuzanneh; We're thrilled that you found our tour "La Grande Dame, a showcase of the Maison's excellence" to be fantastic! It sounds like the experience with our guide provided valuable insights into our history. Walking in the vineyard before the harvest and the delicious tasting of three champagnes added to the enjoyment of the 4-hour experience. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated, and we hope to welcome you back for more memorable moments in the future! Cheers! VCP Team

    Veuve Tour is a must!
This is THE tour to go on. We recommend it as the best experience we had at Reims. The tour guides are excellent, witty and so knowledgeable and the cellars and setting of the tour are amazing. We did the 90 minute tour with 4 tastings at the end. Spectacular. You can’t learn about Champagne without knowing about the role Veuve has in it.
Dear joannesM1499QK, Thank you for choosing our "Only One Quality, The Finest" tour! We're delighted it was THE tour for you and the best experience in Reims. Your praise for our excellent guides, the amazing cellars, and the four tastings at the end is truly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back for more exceptional experiences! Cheers! Reallylovely & well done tour
Loved the tour thru part of the caves and it was nice to have a bit of food to go with the tastings at the end of the tour. The history and knowledge shared was great. I didn't feel rushed at all at the end so some of us were able to finish our tastings leisurely while chatting. Also, the entire location is really lovely.
Dear Tamoshanter12, We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour "The Art of Blended Rosé." Your positive feedback is greatly appreciated, and we're delighted that you had a wonderful experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for more delightful moments in the future! Cheers! Madam Veuve tour- excellent
We took the Madam Veuve tour to learn about the history of her specifically. It was excellent. We learned a lot about how this brand became so famous, saw the beautiful caves and tasted some excellent champagne. My favorite of the tasting was La Grande Dame. Highly recommended, and a classic house to visit!
Dear SarahEtraveler, We're thrilled to hear that you chose the "Madame Clicquot, the Grande Dame of Champagne" tour to explore the history of this remarkable woman. La Grande Dame being your favorite from the tasting is wonderful to know. Thank you for the high recommendation, and we're honored to be considered a classic House to visit. We look forward to welcoming you back for more memorable experiences in the future! Cheers! VCP Team

A good way to get acquainted with the history and manufacturing of this delicious champagne
We booked the rosé tour. We were 8 visitors with one guide. The explanations were clear and to the point. The only problem is that if another group touring simultaneously with another guide is noisy as it happened when we visited, the echo in the cave makes it difficult to hear your own guide. And this happened before the tasting. The servings are of a good, standard volume and cheeses that accompany are tasty. Everything is prepared for a pleasant visit. Very enjoyable.
Dear Hugo2011, Thank you for sharing your experience on the tour "The art of blended rosé champagne". We appreciate your feedback on the clear and concise explanations during the tour. It's worth noting that, given the nature of the environment, occasional noise from other groups may be present, affecting the overall atmosphere. We're pleased to hear that despite this, you found the servings and accompanying cheeses enjoyable, contributing to a pleasant visit. We look forward to welcoming you back for more delightful experiences in the future. Cheers! VCP Team

    Interesting and Delicious
We had a lovely time at Verve Clicquot - firstly we had a champagne and cheese tray at the cafe before our tour with the lovely and informative Clementine. The tour of the cellars is really interesting as is the history of the champagne house. Madam Clicquot was one of the first business women and should be celebrated as she is during the tour for her innovative processes and foresight in the champagne industry. Only draw back is when you buy champagne glasses through the boutique they are just wrapped with some tissue paper which is not very secure especially for those who are travelling from afar. It would be great to offer a hard box for the glasses even if for an additional cost which I would have been happy to pay to ensure I get my glasses home safe. Otherwise, who wouldn’t love the tasting session after the cellar tour !!
Dear RieMcD, Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted you enjoyed your time at Veuve Clicquot, from the champagne and cheese tray to the cellar tour. Madame Clicquot's legacy is indeed something we celebrate with pride. We appreciate your suggestion regarding the packaging for our champagne glasses. Ensuring the safety of your purchase is important to us, and we'll consider your input for future enhancements. Looking forward to welcoming you back for another memorable experience. Wishing you a wonderful day! VCP Team

    Great tour
We did a tour with Clementine as our guide, she was fantastic as were all staff from check in to the gift shop. It was fun to be down in the cellars and learn all about the history of this champagne house, and then of course to drink the champagne at the end of the tour. Great experience.
Dear nisbette, Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tourand that our staff, from check-in to the gift shop, made your visit memorable. Exploring the cellars and learning about the history of our champagne house is indeed a unique journey, and we're delighted you had fun. Cheers to ending the tour with a taste of our champagne! We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for more great experiences in the future. Wishing you a wonderful day! VCP Team

    La Grand Dame Experience
Amazing visit to Veuve Clicquot. The visit started with a tour of the chalk cellars. Great commentary and history provided by our guide, followed by a delicious tasting of a Reims exclusive yellow label bottle in the actual cellar. But that’s just the warm-up for what’s about to come. We then got into a private shuttle for a drive out to Maison Clicquot and one of their best vineyards. We picked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and ate them off the vine. We learned how the grapes were produced, harvested and pressed and even more about the history of the company. We then had a tasting of two Grand Cru champagnes, including the rosé version. These are some of their finest bottles, and the quality was phenomenal. Our guide was extraordinarily good. It was obvious that Veuve Clicquot has an impressive training program. After the shuttle returned to Reims, we enjoyed a fun outdoor lunch at the Clicquot Cafe.
Dear Dave A, We are sincerely grateful for your kind words regarding your tour. Thank you for choosing Veuve Clicquot, and we genuinely look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back. Wishing you a wonderful day. VCP Team

    Lifelong dream-tick!!!
It was my partners lifelong dream to go here and it didn't disappoint. From the moment it first came into view, it was all about the distinct yellow outlandishly great branding. The whole place is a marketing mecca. The wine cellar tour was great but it did have a feel to it that the jokes the tour guide told were scripted . Nevertheless, staff was amazingly friendly and helpful, and their English was better than ours! Their product knowledge was amazing and they presented themselves well with their ironed and neat uniforms! Above all the champagne tastings were refreshing and great value for money. The merchandise store was amazing as well.

There were 7 people on our tour, 5 spoke English only and 2 spoke English and French but the guide conducted the tour in French only...the 5 of us felt embarrassed as we had to follow the guide around and stand there and be talked at with no idea of what I'm sure was some wonderful history of Madame Clicquot!

We'd fully recommend you visit the Pommery house and Caves as these were much more impressive with fun art installations and there were lot's of information in English on the champagne making process, including some nice sofa's in the bar to sit and enjoy your champagne.

Veuve Clicquot is my favourite champagne and I did spend a lot of money in the unfortunately very over priced shop.

I was disappointed with the experience at the champagne house and I think it could easily be improved by adding more information around and more for visitors to do and see to experience the place.

Take the time to know or find out your who your audience is and what would be the best language to conduct the tour in or give information prior to the tour that it would only be conducted in a certain language so we could have been prepared or give us a tablet that we could read the information from in English so that we felt part of the tour and learned about the very precious Madame Clicquot.

Reims is a beautiful city and I would recommend you visit and enjoy it.

Whatever you do, do not upgrade to the Vintage tour please. I hate to spoil it, but all you get is an additional glass of their cheapest, youngest vintage for double the price of the standard ticket (which already includes one glass of their brut). This means an additional 25 Euro for a tasting glass size of their 2012 which only costs 50 Euro perhaps for the full size bottle..

Setting this aside, now a review of the actual tour. You are provided with a tablet to accompany you on the tour and you put in numbers throughout the tour to activate new information on the tablet. As we were walking around, we noticed our guide skipping a lot of sections as we walked past many numbers that he did not tell us to enter. He also didn’t tell us many basic facts about the champagne making process which we then had to learn from other, far better tours and also a lovely champagne bar in Reims… You cannot assume people already have the knowledge beforehand or at least you must have the decency to ask the group for the levels of knowledge first. Come on, to be charged 50 Euro per person for a whistle stop tour and some very basic spew about the history of the Dame is not sufficient. Clearly the tour guide didn’t really have interest, as he was so scripted and brushed aside our questions, and also relied on a tablet to keep us entertained which I find most bizarre.

If you get a chance, do the Moet tour in Epernay. Absolutely fabulous. Oh and the VC shop really is small and not exciting, not worth the trip if you have not booked the tour.

Dear TravelMeUp, We trust each person leaving us a comment is honest and we thank you for taking the time to share your experience. You are completely right to complain about not having all the information you deserve. We are going to make sure this will never happen again. Nevertheless, regarding the price, you can't really compare "Taste the Vintage " and "Veuve Clicquot Solar's Icon" as the difference is not only around the tasting, it is also the duration and the information shared. The second one is focused on the History of the company and not the champagne process. We respect your opinion about the boutique, but also have to stay most of the people who visit it are quite happy about seeing the different Champagne of the range or having the possibility to buy accessories branded Veuve Clicquot. If you ever get back to Champagne, please let us know. It is important for us to share passion and knowledges with our visitors and to make sure their experience in our House will be a good memory. We visited 6 Champagne houses before visiting Veuve Clicquot, and this visit was the worst of the 7 tours. Our guide really rushed through the tour, spoke bad English, and couldn't really answer any of the questions. He provided little information about the house, and everything felt rushed. The champagne tasting was also done in the cellar (with a temperature of 12C) , wished we had been warned about this in advance. The tasting was also rushed, with most people unable to finish their champagne by the time we were asked to leave, and we were not allowed to bring our champagne with us from the cellars. When you pay a considerate amount for a visit, you would expect to be given enough time to appreciate the champagne you are given to taste (and not in 12C!). Recommend visiting other champagne houses like Mumm, Moet, Ruinart, Lanson with far knowledgeable guides and more pleasant tasting experience.

Dear Yanasre, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We have many types of tours available. The tour was ok, we were a little disappointed. We paid more to do the sparkling Rosé tour and it was good as we then had a smaller group but the wine we tasted is what you are used to drinking so it wasn’t inspiring or anything new.
The tour guide an express tour that felt like the exact one he gives multiple times a day - it felt rushed because they have to get so many groups through.
You feel like a number here.
Even for the tasting, you do the tasting and then your guide rushes off and you’re just left with the group to drink your champagne. No further questions because I guess you’re just drinking the stock standard.
I did really like the story of female entrepreneurship and enjoyed that part of the history but it was so rushed.
Maybe we had higher expectations as we’d done a tour elsewhere the day before and it was so much more personalised and interesting

Dear FrankieFranks, Thank you for sharing your experience with the Sparkling Rosé tour. We understand that it may not have fully met your expectations. We have a diverse range of tours, including those with tastings of rare cuvées, which could provide a more tailored and inspiring experience. We appreciate your feedback, and if you choose to visit again, we'd be happy to assist in finding a tour that aligns more closely with your expectations. Thank you for considering our offerings, and we hope to have the opportunity to enhance your experience in the future. Wishing you a wonderful day, Kind regards, The VCP Team

Do not be allured by the Veuve Clicquot tasting at their champagne house in Reims as I was. I've traveled the world and tasted wine in places like Napa, Tuscany, etc. but I've never had such a poor experience as I did at Veuve Clicquot so I feel compelled to leave a review.

I booked a one-hour long rosé tasting for 60 euro a person. First, they took us on a 30-minute cellar tour without any wine. Then, we moved to a room for two tastings and a small cheese pairing plate. After the guide’s explanation and champagne being poured, we had only 15 minutes to enjoy our champagne and cheese. We were prohibited from taking our champagne outside the tasting room, which is unusual (Taittinger allowed us to finish our tasting in the reception area). At our table, people from Norway and Australia were just as confused. With two minutes to spear, we were told to drink our champagne quickly and vacate the room because our time was up ( mind you after you continue to read my review this was the LAST tasting of the day).

The rushed tasting led us to seek a glass of champagne on the terrace, as suggested by our tour guide after suggesting that we visit the gift shop. After buying a $70 bottle of vintage champagne and two custom Veuve Clicquot glasses, we were turned away from the terrace because it was closing in 15 minutes, despite it being half full. We were told to come back the next day. This was so condescending as I traveled from miles away and can't easily return the next day.

This treatment of paying customers is unacceptable. My day in Reims was ruined, and I left in tears. My advice: avoid Veuve Clicquot and find a smaller champagne house that values its visitors. I will never spend a dime on Veuve Clicquot again in my lifetime

Dear Denisa P, The "Art of Rosé Blending" tour is a one-hour experience that combines a half-hour tour of our cellars with a half-hour tasting session. During this tour, participants have the opportunity to taste two rosé cuvées: our non-vintage rosé and our 2015 vintage rosé. These tastings are accompanied by two different cheeses and duck breast, creating a light food-wine pairing. The main goal of this tour is to highlight the history of our House, with a particular emphasis on the history and creation process of rosé blending, an invention by Madame Clicquot. This experience allows visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of champagne and learn more about the traditions and innovations that have contributed to making Veuve Clicquot what it is today. Unfortunately, we don't permit guests to take their glasses outside the tasting areas due to safety reasons, as there are many stairs that could pose a hazard. We apologize for any feeling of being rushed during your visit. It's likely that the time slot you chose was the last of the day, which is why Café Clicquot closed its doors a few minutes after your tasting, along with our visitor center. We appreciate your feedback and will take your comments into account to improve our services in the future. Wishing you a nice day VCP Team

We took a train in from Paris for the day to complete the tour. The tour was nice, the guide was very good. Here's what wasn't so good...trains come in early so we had to stand outside the gates for about 30 mins. I'm sure this happens often with morning tours and there is no welcoming benches or areas to wait before they open the gates. The tasting was in the caves on the world's most uncomfortable small metal director chairs. I noticed most people over a size medium kept one leg on the ground, also the tasting area was in small groups so you didn't really get to meet the others on tour. Because it was winter time the little airstream thing wasn't open and there were no chairs and tables set up for an after tasting. At a vineyard I like to tour taste than have a bit of fun after, this was more systematic... check in - tour - gift shop good-bye.
But in the end it's VC and if you are a fan you must go, I'm sure it's better in Spring and Summer. Feel free to click on my photo and access our Youtube channel for video of the tour. and how to do it yourself travel from Paris

Dear Myka S, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with details. We are going to think about the conditions of waiting before we open the gates. But regarding the tasting area, during the month of December the rules have been changed and we don't have the choice to create distance between each person while tasting, using chairs. We understand it is not the best environment and we look forward for having the possibility again to avoid chairs and let everybody enjoying the tasting. You are right the tasting area in the garden in only open from may to October but is not set for the weather we get in November and December, reason why don't open it at the end of the season. Don't hesitate to come back during spring or summer. Best regards, VCPTeam.

We were in luck to be the only two visitors for a tour, being off season and with Covid19 having a big impact on the amount of viditors. It was an absolute must do and a highlight of our trip. Understanding more aabout the history of Veuve Clicquot made of love the brand even more. After the tasting as part of the tour and drinking a glass of Grande Dame near the airstream outside, we clearly could taste te attention for detail for this excellent champagne.

If you are in the neigbourhood, it would be a miss not to do the tour here..

My husband and I went to visit Veuve Clicquot because it has an amazing history as well as our favorite Champange and it is an excellent company founded on quality and commitment to its brand. We had wanted to book the longer tour but it was filed so we booked two different tours and ate a freshly chef made delicious lunch in between at their outdoor cafe. The tour was magnificent. They explained some history and their process. The entire faculty is clean and inviting. Our two tours consisted of two different champagnes for each tasting so we got to taste it all. They educated us on the difference between vintage and non vintage champagne. I recommend you book your tour months in advance because it sells out quickly.

Another vote for the Aromatically Yours tour… The aromatic garden is right across the street from the main building, so there isn’t travel involved between the locations. Time spent outside in the garden was no more than 20 minutes. As others have mentioned, the local bus picks up right at the train station (if coming from Paris) and takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the Veuve Clicquot building. **Bring coins for the bus. (I think it was 2 euros per person). Time spent underground during the tour is considerable & I was freezing! Glad I brought a sweater, but I’m always cold, so…

You cannot be in Reims without doing the Grand Dame tour! We learned so much about the Veuve Clicquot and all the process improvements she invented and innovated that are still being used in Champagne houses today. It was also so interesting to hear about how a woman came to operate and create one of the original Champagne houses. Our tour guide, Alice, was so knowledgeable about the Grand Dame, the company, and the champagne making process - she was patient with our questions and so nice. We loved her! Also the tasting was tres magnifique - the pours were heavy and they tasted delicious. Would absolutely recommend!!

My one note is that there is no easy food options by VC. They are opening a cafe on 3/22/2023, but it will book fast. So if you're staying the day touring Champagne houses, book lunch early or bring snacks. The houses do not serve food with tastings, so unless you can get into one of their restaurants (impossible on the day of), you will stay hungry all day.
