We arrived at Reims yesterday morning, and although it was cold we were received by a magnificent guide, Martin! He took the time to show us around the city and gave us amazing insights into the city, its architecture, and the culture that holds it together. One of the things that makes this trip memorable and unusual is the opportunity to contrast one of the biggest brands of champagne to a small champagne house, both with an equal spirit for excellence while having different approaches. Amazing trip, highly recommended and btw Martin has outstanding English. :)

Ofcourse it is ‘on of the big brands’ and all their cellars are impressive... but the difference was the humour of our host. I think if you just want to visit one or two Champagne houses a visit to one of the big brands is sufficient. Do you want more ‘in-depth’ info? Visit a smaller ‘Recoltant Manipulant’ house in one of the ‘Grand Cru’ Towns like Avize, Oger or Cramant

We had a good tour. First a short film about how the house started. Then we were taken to the cellars. Very beautiful and impressive. At the end we tasted one glass in the tasting room.

Tour is good, we visited in English. The caves are very impressive and part of the huge network under the city. The visit was informative and pleasant.
