    Historic & cheap!
We arrived today at 11.20. The staff spoke English & she informed us that the 20-25 min movie would start in English at 11:30. We looked around the lobby & then went to the movie(highly recommended *before* seeing the museum!!!!!!) it seems that the movies may be shown every 30min alternating in English & french. Adult + 65 y/o was 8.50€ total. To see the room where the Germans signed to end WW2 was amazing! Same tables & chairs (with their name tags, each in its original spots in the room!) & all the different maps still on the walls. We spent 1 hr there.

    Highly recommended
Don’t miss this. Amazing history and well worth a visit. If driving - there is a convenient parking station opposite 100m away. 2 euros. Clean amenities. Museum staff were polite and helpful.

    Super staff! Experience history!!!
Very friendly staff who were kind enough to let me speak broken French (I’m sure they both could have communicated with me in English). But I really appreciated their professionalism and the museum & film were also awesome. Experience history & come here!!!

    Don’t miss this
So while she knew about this museum, our guide seemed surprised we did! What a gem of a museum. Small and easily missed, the few rooms walk you through the last days of WW2. Very sobering. Exhibits are well marked. Really worth a walk through if you are in Champagne!

Small museum for a big and important event
Champagne and Reims is not only about the bubbles. You also find the place where the germans signed the surrender documents that officially ended the second world war. And say what you want but that is a more significant thing than any champagne producer. The museum is not very big but very informative. There is first a film explaining the event, then you go upstairs to the actual war room where it all happened. There are a few other small rooms with uniforms and small artifacts. The film is available in english, but most signs in the museum are only in french.

    Where WWII formally ended
Sadly left to obscurity in the pages of history, this is the true site where World War II formally ended on May 7th, 1945. The ceremony two days later in the very early morning hours of May 9th, 1945 in Berlin was merely a formality as the real, unconditional surrender had already taken place here on May 7th. The building is intact and has been maintained as it was that day. Staff was very polite and helpful. Entry is free some days, otherwise a small fee on entrance. There's also a cabinet of a few items for sale. The tour begins with a 20+ minute video in French or English (speak with staff and they'll be happy to accommodate) about World War II, Reims, and the events that took place in this building. This is followed by going to the second floor to see an exhibition on the war with artifacts and placards on the war and the surrender. Then, you get to walk into the room, maintained as it was, to see where the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany took place. The table, chairs, and war room layout remain the same as it was on May 7th, 1945. An excellent and important part of history for all to see and grasp. Bathrooms on site. You can park in a garage nearby, or there's street parking. Tram is nearby too and it's only a 10 minute ride from the Cathedral to get here. Train station is right down the street as well. Elevator is on site too.

    Very interesting museum
What a great little museum! We planned a day trip to Reims to visit the champagne houses and were looking for other sights to visit - I am so glad that we found this spot. It would have been a ~25 min walk from the city center, but we took the tram several stops which was fairly easy. This museum is such an interesting piece of important world history. They show a 20 minute video (available in both French and English) about the history and significance of the signing of the surrender of WWII. They also have a small museum upstairs that is very interesting with the actual map room where the document was signed. This museum is a must if you are planning a trip to Reims!

    Essential knowledge
It was a bit hard to find our way walking to this museum, and we did not have much time left to go through. What a shame! The history and information presented are essential knowledge, very well presented in a book or audio guide. The section we visited was so well done. The artifacts are interesting, but the photographs and commentary are among the best I have encountered. It is recommended to spend three hours here, and I concur. We had to leave much sooner and we’re very disappointed for not allotting enough time.

Interesting and informative for all ages
Much better than I thought it might be. The original rooms, building, table. Starts with a very informative video, subtitles if you ask. Then very good displays of maps, uniforms, weaponry etc. Small charge Slightly diff to find, behind station; get to Porte de Mars, head North over the railway bridge, turn left, or follow signs - mostly correct!

    An interesting piece of history.
Wherever we travel, we always make a point of researching and then visiting military museums and other points of interest to further our understanding of the history of Europe. Whilst we would be staying in Reims, we wanted to take in the Museum of the Surrender and it was fascinating to connect the photos and video footage to the actual location and artefacts, including the original meeting table! It is well worth a visit! One point worth noting is that the 'reduced and free admission criteria', as per the website, was not honoured.

A fantastic, friendly little museum. Free for children and cheap for adults it’s well worth a visit although you’re unlikely to spend more than an hour there. There is a 20 min video which rotates in languages and they will tell you when it’s going to start in your language. Extremely interesting for all ages but I’d say age 10+ as it’s not very interactive and there is a lot of reading to do. Perfect for my secondary school age kids especially my son who is doing History GCSE.
If you can time your trip between 12pm and 2pm there is free on street parking, otherwise you need to pay at the meter.

My husband is interested in anything and everything WWII related, so that was a great opportunity to visit the museum. It's not large but full of really interesting artifacts. Although it wasn't our main reason to visit Reims, we were glad we had a chance to go to this museum.

Good for a hour visit, as previously said the introduction video tells you everything about the museum in 20 mins.

The small museum consists of some English newspaper cuttings, uniforms etc, (there in not too much Information in English unfortunately) and the room set up as it was when the surrender was signed in 1945.

The museum is next to the main train station or a km from Reims cathedral. €5 to enter.

The museum is located near the main train station and parking and is actually part of the college building. Head for the flags. The staff really friendly and spoke English. If you are ex services/ veteran it free. 5 euro entrance. First shown a film it was in English for us as another GB couple. This puts things into context and very informative. Then the museum shows a lot of the uniforms and newspapers of that era. There is the actual room chairs table where the surrender took place. I would say about 1 to 2 hrs time there. Toilets very clean, no café plenty around outside though.

This little museum is housed in a building where the actual surrender of the Germans during World War II occurred. In fact, you can go into the room where it happened which is set up as it was on May 7th, 1945. What is unknown to many is that although the original surrender of the Germans occurred here in France, Stalin insisted upon a reenactment of the surrender to be held in Berlin. This is because vast numbers of Russians were killed in capturing Berlin and wanted that recognition. The displays are very well lighted and neatly arranged. There are lots of World War II uniforms and nice explanations in several different languages including English. The tour starts out with a film about the history of the world at that time. As a retired military officer my husband and I were given free admission.

My wife and I visited recently and were very impressed by this very historic spot and learned a lot. If you go, you may have the opportunity to interact with Madame Saradha Villers, a docent at the museum. She is a wealth of knowledge and is ready to share it with anyone that would like it. I had no idea that the Allied war in Europe ended here in Reims and this museum captures that moment well.

There is a surprising piece of WWII history locked away here. It isn't a large exhibition but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in impact. Highly recommend a visit if being in 'the place where it happened' is your thing.
