Good shopping, attractive for a stroll. It gets particularly slippery in the rain to the extent that I bought some new shoes in the sales (any excuse!) because I couldn't stop slipping in my sandals.

I love National road, it's very beautiful and full of shops and restaurants, it's nice place to walk, and has tramp.it's a long straight road with a beautiful river Loire across the road. Even u can walk around the river , it has a restaurant and bar on the riverbank.

This is the very heart of the city with the trams running through. It has the mixture locals going about their daily business and visitors taking in the sights. Window shopping is great with a whole range of shops. If you stroll just off the main rue there are many more shops to see we found an abundance of very... More

This is a really nice street. Trees, numerous shops and perfect for window shopping or perhaps for some serious shopping if you wish. You can sit down and have something to eat and drink too. Great for photos. We went up and down the street a couple of times and had an enjoyable time.

You can walk thru the street for sightseeing, shopping or have something to eat. Very funny to see the train ringing the bell so you can move and it can pass!

Wonderful window shopping - great place to stroll. A wide variety of stores. Be careful crossing in front of trams.

This is a real center of a real functioning French city. The one kilometer (5/8 mile) long street has various kinds of stores (mostly clothing). Recently updated with a tramway (light rail) going down the middle of the street (and no cars or trucks), it is a pleasure to walk all year round down the street. At one end of... More

Thus is a large carfree avenue with a modern street car running through it. You get a spacious, euphoric feeling while window shopping.

Yes, the Rue Nationale is one of the oldest streets in Tours, yet the most vibrant area in the city. This 700 meter pedestrian quai in the center of Tours running north to south, connects the Avenue de la Tranchee, Pont Wilson to the Avenue de Grammont.  Serviced by a modern convenient trolley, Rue Nationale is the premier shopping area... The avenue is lined with shops and stores on either side and is just a hop away from the Loire river and is a great activity to spend 2-3 hours shopping and dining - many cafeterias in the vicinity as well
