Using the services of Odyssee was the smartest thing we did on our trip. They organized a tour of Orleans and then the chateau's in the Loire River Valley. The guides were knowledgeable, flexible, and made us feel welcome. Can not imagine trying to do this on our own.

My wife, son, and I did a private tour with Stephanie seeing 3 impressive chateau from our hotel in Amboise. The day was very enjoyable and Stephanie certainly is very knowledgeable and passionate about Loire Valley history. She provided private tours of each chateau so that we learned so much about each one. She also made lunch suggestions and reservations for us in order to beat the crowds!…

I found Stephanie upon reading reviews of tours in the Loire Valley. I was looking for a visit to the chateaus with some wine tastings and on a bicycle if possible. It was a last minute call to Stephanie (late the eve before) and though she didn’t offer any bike tours, she gave me suggestions on companies that may be able to accommodate; even on the day of her scheduled tour, she took the time to send recommendations on where to rent & bike routes I can take should I choose to brave it alone. Because she was so kind even when it meant directing business elsewhere (ok...also because I chickened out), I decided to purchase her Chambord wine tour instead. Great decision! We were picked up in a brand new Mercedes mini-shuttle. During the entire ride she talked about the history of the region, relevant facts, as well as in depth knowledge of the churches & castles that were visited. It was a small intimate group of 3 but as we spoke different languages, she had to switch between Spanish, English, and French. Needless to say, it was quite a juggle and Stephanie managed without a hitch (actually she did speak Spanish to me a few times before noticing the deer in the headlight expression on my face and switched language. It posed an occasion for a good laugh). On our ride back, even after a full day of walking and talking, she still engaged us in discussions and quizzing us on our new found knowledge. Her voice may have been wiped out by the end of the day, but Stephanie was full of smiles and warmth to the very end. Thank you Stephanie. You made my trip to France that much more special.…

A group of military brats, who's fathers served in the US Army in Orleans France after World War II, wanted to revisit the area where their fathers served and where they as dependants, attended school on the Army base in Orleans. Our group wanted to better understand the history of Orleans, visit army housing where we lived in the 1960's and visit Chambord, the most significant chateau in the Loire Valley. Stephanie did an excellent job as our guide. She is the owner of Odyssee en Val de Loire. She speaks English fluently and as a native of Orleans, is highly knowledgeable about the history of the area. She provided lunch and dinner reservations, drove us in a late model Mercedes van and did her homework on that period of time when the US Army had bases all over France after WWII. Clearly she is an exceptional expert on the Loire Valley, the city of Orleans and Chambord and surrounding areas. I would highly recommend that you contact Stephanie if you desire to tour this beautiful part of France.…

I highly recommend Stephanie and the Loire Valley tour. She was waiting for us when we arrived at the train station. The van was large and comfortable, and Stephanie’s knowledge of the history of the area was very impressive. We felt engaged and entertained throughout the day. Stephanie went well out of her way to allow us the visit a relative of a member of our group. The pace of the tour was just right, as we got to see several castles and still had time to shop and picnic. Outstanding!!…
