Beautiful building and interiors only takes a few minutes
Jul 2021
Had seen other reviews, it is a beautiful building with exquisite interiors and well worth 15 mins to look round, there is also a pleasant garden to sit and enjoy behind it.

Visit it if there isn’t a wedding
Aug 2019
You might thing Orleans has not so many things to offer to a tourist. I don't know if you are right but consider to visit this interesting place. It is the former city council building until the council moved to the new building. It is now used for weddings and in these occasions you are not allowed to enter. In any other moment the entrance is free and you have the opportunity to visit the rooms were the city council worked. There are 5 rooms to visit. All with finely decorated walls, paintings, some furniture, gifts of political meetings with foreign delegations. A pleasant 30-minute visit.

Good Free Petit Muse
Sep 2019
A good starting point to begin sightseeing the old centre ville of Orléans, France. This architectural marvel, an ex-wealthy man’s home, is now a delightful 6 room museum which will only take 20 minutes to visit. The garden in the rear of the building is a quiet place to read a book, rest you feet or sit and listen to the water fountain. The admission is free.

Pretty old City Hall
Jun 2019 • Friends
Enjoyable free garden and partial-building access to reception rooms and old city council meeting room. Fine paintings of individuals from the past of Orléans with a nice statue of Joan of Arc half a block from the cathedral entrance and next to the B tram stop.

Hidden gem
Jun 2019 • Couples
It’s not obvious from outside that this is a tourist attraction but the building and gardens are delightful and FREE. It’s well worth 30 mins to look round the rooms in the Hotel which was once the local government chambers with the mayors office, but the gardens are lovely and tranquil and a good place to sit for a while in the heat.

Worth a visit
Dec 2018 • Solo
An impressive building, both internally and externally.

It also serves as council offices and only a part of the building is open to tourists.

Despite the opening hours, there is no access if the rooms are being used for a reception or a wedding.

There are 6 main rooms to see, all lavishly appointed and with helpful information cards in each room.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

Do go if you can.
