Vineyard cycle tours in and around Chinon, in the Loire Valley

6 reviews
We're expats, formerly of Devon in the United Kingdom but now of Chinon. I've always cycled and loved my bike, and for the best part of my adult life, always loved wine... this is me! With my family, I now find ourselves living amongst vineyards, with wine producers creating something very special on our doorstep. Chinon wine is recognised as being very special across France, yet throughout the rest of the world it's lesser known and we're keen to spread the word about the local wine through vineyard tours! We spent years and years holidaying in France before moving here, never quite summoning up the courage to head in through the big barn doors of a wine producer, but now we've started we can't stop! This type of visit is so important to many independent producers, and we're now keen to share this experience with you. First and foremost our vineyard tours by bike are designed to be a fun experience, for you, family and friends to make the most of your time in the Chinon area.

Would highly recommend this tour and tasting. We did it with Veronique who spoke really great English, and was both engaging and informative. Wines were lovely and served with some rillettes. Really enjoyable experience! Brought several bottles home...la haute olive is divine :) Merci Beaucoup!!!

Delicious wine. However make a reservation for a tour and tasting, so so enjoyable. We’ve done many, and both my husband and I got in the car at the conclusion, said this was the most enjoyable of all.

We stopped in towards the end of our day and received a lovely wine tasting of their Cab Franc wines. That is the only variety that is grown in this region. We preferred the rose! It is a wonderful, dry, yet aromatic rose that we loved so much, we had bottles shipped back to our home in California. If we had more time, we would have toured the vineyard, but it was the end of the day and we were lucky they were open late and did not require reservations.

Had a short tour and tasting here while we were visiting the area. A really nice friendly set up with a fantastic little tour which was really interesting followed by a tasting which inevitably resulted in lots of purchases being made. The people were fantastic and we learnt a lot. The only downside was the lat 20 minutes later we were in the supermarket opposite and found their Rosé cheaper than we had paid! It wasn't a huge amount and we didn't mind as we thought it was much more personable buying from them directly. Would recommend

Pierre eat Bertrand Couly winery was a perfect drop in location for us. We did not have to worry about booking a reservation in advance. We were welcomed very warmly and provided a thorough and enthusiastic description of the wines and local terroir (in English). We had our son with us who even got to try some delicious grape juices. The wines were of outstanding quality and value. The sweet dog came out to say hello as we were leaving, which was an added bonus. A great winery to visit in Chinon!
