Toured the Loire Valley for several days seeing multiple chateaux, and this was my favorite. Not necessarily the fanciest, but being built on the ruins of an old mill over the Cher River makes it very unique. Photos of this chateau are used in many advertisements for the area and chateaux in general. The gardens looked lovely but were still... More

The Chateau is gorgeous with an intriguing history. I came here in the off-season and can't recommend it enough. There's less foot traffic so you have more time and space to take everything in. You also have the opportunity for better pictures of the interior and exterior. Especially from either garden where you snap a photo of the whole Chateau... More

This was the second time I have visited but it was still beautiful. They have added the hiring of row boats so that you can see the chateau from the water (fantastic for photos) and I thought this was going to be ££££ (kerching!) but was only €8 for 30 mins. We had a fun time going round in circles... More

13 Euro to view the Chateau and grounds with a brochure. 17.5 Euro for admission with the audio guide. The château of Chenonceau offers a free application, "Discover Chenonceau", which will give you all the necessary information from the App Store as well. You can buy tickets at the kiosks before entry as well as staffed ticket center. Plan on... More

Visited Chateau de Chenonceau as part of a coach tour group. Because we were on a schedule, we only had a few hours to explore this magnificent estate. After entering through the gift shop, we approached the chateau via a long tree-lined drive through the lovely forest which surrounds the estate. We passed between two sphinx-like statues and crossed the... More

One of the best-known châteaux of the Loire valley, spending a half-day here was very nice. The grounds, the chateau, the furnishings and history tell a wonderful tale of how this building survived the ages and most recently served as a war hospital whose rehab was funded by the then current owners. There are a number of secondary sites on... More

Massive, mystic and enjoyable castle in the middle of the Loire Valley, its one of the most popular castles in the entire region and by far the most visited. Be prepare for the crowds although amazingly was well manage during the visit. They do have a massive car park and a lovely picnic area outside, and you can get the... More

I was in a very small mini-van group of 4 with an exceptionally talented tour guide, Elsa, from Touraine Evasion in Tours. Prior to our arrival she provided a great deal of history on the chateaux. This was a huge plus! She also confessed that this was her favorite Chateaux after 5 years as a tour guide. The grounds are... More
