This is most likely one of the most iconic Loire valley castle. The peaceful gardens lead you toward an amazing piece of architecture set over the river. Great visit and good support for all languages.

What is interesting in the Loire region is that you have such a concentration of castles that are all different. Chenonceau is extremely different from Chambord and from Blois even though they're geographically quite close. This one is a very feminine castle that was inhabited...More

Had this review been solely about the house, it would have scored 5 blobs without hesitation. It was stunningly presented, informative, sparkling clean, with wonderful flower arrangements. It was an absolute delight to visit. The gardens, in contrast, were woefully neglected, desperate for weeding, and...More

Our family spent a couple of hours touring the chateau and the surrounding grounds, including two beautiful gardens, a flower and vegetable garden, display of several carriages of various periods, a beautiful tea room and lovely picnic areas, all adjacent to the river. Magnificent tree...More

This chateau is situated on the water, and that makes it especially beautiful. We did not go into the chateau and only walked around outside. We saw people canoeing, and that would be the best way to view the chateau from water. We did not...More

Absolutely beautiful chateau. All the reviews will so attest. How is this for an experience? The ticket machine issued an extra ticket, thus we overpaid by 9 euros. We presented our problem to the ticket agent . Unbelievable response from the girl who continued to...More

We saw 5 chateaux on our recent trip to Loire valley and this came up tops! It is simply spectacular and grand, steeped in history across the ages....the stories of past occupants and their tales of betrayal, power, death, loyalty and bravery relating to this...More

I visited this castle 3 years ago. This experience was amazing. The structure of the castle of the Cher river is cool. The castle itself and it's interior is very beautiful. The visit wasn't long. The gardens near the castle were very pretty. This is...More

This chateau is amazing and in fabulous condition. It was definitely worth the drive from Paris. The grounds and house are incredible.

I stayed in Amboise, a glorious medieval (and later) town quite close to Chenonceaux. Much nicer than Tours with lots of hotels, pensions, etc.. Has its own castle and fortifications, and Leanardo da Vinci lived and died... More
