We loved Chartres Cathedral! Not to miss. The walk up to the North Tower, not so much. We had walked up the top of Notre Dame in Paris, and that was worth it. The walk up is strenuous, as expected. The stone spiral staircase is...More

Ten centuries old and still profoundly moving. The ILLUMINATIONS show we saw was outstanding! Quiet, peaceful, historic, enchanting to just gaze at those stained glass windows! Le bleu de Chartres...still knocks me out!

Absolute masterpiece, one of the finest cathedrals in Europe in general and France in particular. Mind-boggling craftsmanship and beauty take my breath away. Enough said.
