Not heavily furnished but the architecture - staircase - is amazing. This is one you want to see! Gardens and activities on site - food available for lunch - not dinner. Climbing to the top is a must!

We arrived at Chambord around 2:30pm on a Monday in July after kayaking the Loire. If you can, Monday is a good day to go. Hardly any crowds and no lines. We grabbed lunch at one of the cafes mid-way into the entry courtyard. Following...More

Beautiful castle with magnificent views. Spiral staircase all the way to the top. Take a pamphlet to check the various room in the castle and history behind them. Amazed by the decors and living quality of the royals.

This can be long. I advise you to buy tickets upfront via internet. This will save time in the waiting line. You can even do this by phone when you’re in front of the castle if you don’t know exactly when you go there. Have... More
