Stunningly Beautiful Cathedral

We keep returning to visit this cathedral, sometimes driving out of our way to do so. It is stunningly beautiful.

I had a nice stroll in this cathedrale. The stained glasses are pretty amazing and the light in the place is stunning thank to them. I recommand to stop by, it is easy to park and it makes a nice stop on your way to the south of France.

Really worthwhile visit. Particularly recommend a visit to the crypt. Super garden near by with dancing on a Sunday lunch time. Didn't partake but enjoyed watching from the cafe

A stunning building with glorious quantities of superb stained glass - take binoculars if you can. (There was a hint of daylight coming through the junction between the side aisles and the central Nave on its middle southern side. Has anyone else seen that?)

Magnificent building with unusual layout. Whereas most churches as laid out in the shape of a cross, this on isn't. It is also huge!

The size of the cathedral is just one reason for visiting, free entry but give a donation if you can.

The grandest, the most strangely and fabulously beautiful building in Europe —Aldous Huxley Over the past thirty years my wife, an Art Historan, and I have visited and photographed almost all of the Gothic Churches in France. It was Bourges that got us hooked on Gothic architecture. I still have the clearest possible memory of rushing past the five gabled... More

This is a must visit if you are in Bourges. Unbelievable building which takes your breath away. Make sure you look at all the carvings outside and the stained glass windows inside. Magnificent.

Well worth a visit. This cathedral is a UNESCO listed monument and has interesting details both outside and in. It was relatively quiet considering it was August but well worth a visit ( look out for the scene above the main entrance)
