DON'T GO - IT'S CLOSED
Sep 2019
We turned up to visit it in September 2019 and a sign on the door stated that it was now closed. No explanation, no date as to when it might reopen. Instead, go and visit the chateau at nearby Meung-sur-Loire, an altogether more pleasurable experience.

Nice castle built in Middle Ages
Aug 2018 • Family
Chateau de Beaugency (it is also called Chateau Dunois) is a castle located in Beaugency, a tiny town in Loire Region, in the center of France. It is a castle built from 11th to 19th Century, it really seems a Middle Ages Castle. It is not to much big and you can visit the inner gardens and rooms. Nice castle in the region.

well located and modern

Well located, not crowded, modern system of visit, but this is not the most tremendous location to see in the region. Good if you only have 1 hour or 2

Worth a look if you are in the area.

Located right in the town, it is interesting and well curated, and never crowded from what I could see. The oak roof is impressive when seen from inside, and VR tablets are provided with entry tickets, although these are limited enough and not really worth bothering with.

Nice, Informative and well done.

Take the tablet tour (no extra charge) it is informative, and has a gadget that shows you the room in VR how it was back in the days. Several rooms are well redone to give you an idea of how the chateau was and how the people lived. Interesting and nice refuge from the heat wave outside : )

Worth a visit if staying in Beaugency
Jun 2018 • Family
Hidden gem we found in Beaugency! We were only staying in town for overnight, when found this castle in the morning. We hesitated to enter but we're pleasantly surprised! They offer a complimentary iPad-Visioguide which gave us a lot of information about the place and medieval lifestyle in general and was fun to play with. The castle is worth a visit is staying in town or even passing by on the way to other Castles in Loire valley.

Fairly small by Loire standards but very well done. The android guide was excellent. Allow about 2 hours for your visit.

Beaugency in general
Aug 2017 • Family
Well worthwhile the trip, tranquil, very old, picturesque village/town, windy road with stream with fish running down the middle of it, could be used in Medieval films! brings you out to the Loire river (I think!) amazing space, wide river, reeds, old bridge and people just chilling walking up and down past the old abbey/chateau....only advice would be to bring some anti-midge cream as by the river is streaming with them

Definitely worth visiting.

The château is a short train ride from Orléans and a pleasant walk from the Beaugency station so if you are in the area this is worth considering.

The château has been restored and many rooms, each displaying a different aspect of life during the château's time are able to be visited.

Visitors are supplied with an iPad type device to scan a designated icon at each display. It then offers much useful and interesting information in a number of languages.

There are even games to keep the kids busy.

The welcome was warm and advice was so helpful.
