This is a lovely chateau....the first one we visited this year. Unfortunately half of it is clad in scaffolding, so getting good photos is a little challenging.... So, what is left? A wonderful building in a really pleasant little town: the chateau is actually on an island, and the river forms the moat (there was originally a real fortress here).... More

The renovation meant that the chateau was mostly covered by plastic sheeting. Had that been complete then I am sure it is a stunning sight. Inside you were restricted to only a few rooms. The grounds were not particularly colourful.

This is our 3rd visit in 20 years so whilst we know it well, it was interesting to see the level of work being put into the chateau. 50% of it was under plastic but the new work on renovation and restoration is impressive. Great to see some of the rooms "dressed". As a Brit we are used to the... More

Chateau is undergoing such significant renovations that exterior is more than 50% covered in scaffolding. Others Chateaus have more period furnishings, but this one is not bad.

Just 50m walk from Hotel de Biencourt. Dogs welcome in the grounds, but you can carry your pooch around the Chateau if small enough!

This chateau is hard to see properly from the gate. Our hotel had a chateau package that included this one which has all kind a scaffolding up. Hard to get a picture in front of it without all the plastic sheeting showing. Nice garden cafe for a drink in the late afternoon after your tour. We had biked earlier in... More

We were blown away by the opportunity to see inside the roof of this amazing chateau there is a viewing platform and because the tiles are off at the moment the complete timber structure is on view - a must!

A lovely small chateau which is undergoing extensive renovation work. We were fascinated to get a view of the work being undertaken to renew the roof quite close up. When combined with a wander around the very pretty village it's a worthwhile half day excursion.

Set in pleasant grounds and looking like a fairy-tale, the chateau is definitely worth a visit---though as is usual with french chateaux, there is not much furniture and not many interior items to ogle! However, it has some rather stunning ceilings, tapestries and fireplaces . Entry fee is not too expensive and it photographs like a dream from the exterior.... More
