Typical parish church. Spent 4 weeks in Amboise as a local so had an opportunity to visit and experience baptism and the local community. Local boy scouts sell treats afterwards to raise a few Euro's. Nice to see young people publically expressing their beliefs Also...More

Lovely church to visit if you are in Amboise. Some really impressive stone masonry, stained glass windows and overall ambiance. There is a really useful guide in several languages. Top tip is to make sure you turn the lights on and allow your eyes time...More

Although the view of the town and chateau from the steps of the church is very impressive, the church itself is a bit of a disappointment. Very gloomy inside, and although there was obviously interior lighting, it wasn’t on when we visited. Consequently it felt...More

Quite close to the centre of town and worth popping into if only to see the magnificent carved Romanesque capitals. These include a female acrobat doing a handstand, Jesus rescuing a lamp from brambles, and all sorts orange animals.

This is an oasis of peace in a town of peace - a place of quiet beauty. The sculpture and glass are memorable but the capitals are splendid, reminiscent of those further south in Poitou. Sit quietly here and think; so many - me included...More

In the heart of this city, it's worth stopping in to take a look at this old church. Not as grand as some others, but still interesting and quite beautiful.

The church is nicely located on the hill but inside it is not very impressive. It is pretty dark without too much decoration. Entrance is free.

We stopped in here to avoid an afternoon downpour. I found a written guide in English at the entrance which was most welcome as I find a lot of attractions in France don't provide translations. It has an very old history (back to 1100's -...More

The church was closed when I visited, so I can't speak about the interior. But the outside is worth a walk-around, and the site offers a nice view of the city.

Mass is normally 10:30 am Sunday. All in French with choir and organ. Plan to go to markets along river on Sunday mornings afterwards.
