This was a lovely museum filled with beautiful furniture and paintings to admire but it must have been because we got there at the opening and the staff were still sleepy because they were not very welcoming or friendly! No smiles, no hello, just staring with sour faces and 'You have to pay here' Yes I'm aware it says so... More

You won't see work from the giants here. The Magnin family made it a point to collect works from lesser known artists. Loved seeing the family home and being introduced to some of the less famous artists and their influences. It's just 3.50 Euros admission and really a bargain at that. Also, the English audio guides are free and very... More

If you want an impression of the luxurious atmosphere in which 19th century French noblesse lived don't miss this place. Both the furniture and 17th-18th century paintings are worth it, some of them in Italian Caravaggio style with beautiful dark-colour contrasts... recommended.

Rich in artwork, pleasant to walk around and discover both the interior design and the collection itself. Kind people working in the museum. It is set in a house and is necessary to climb up the stairs to move from one floor to the other (therefore not easily accessible to people with limited mobility)

The house, mansion is amazing in itself. The ceiling decors, the stair case, the size added to the sheer enjoyment. The place was full of paintings from 1500s and on. The commentary explained a few of their meaning. For a non art lover it added to to stay. I liked the clocks, furniture, and decorative items. They seemed of the... More

Musée Magnin is housed in a wonderful town house in Dijon which belonged to the Magnin family. The later generation bequeathed it to the state. Admire the extraordinary grand staircase and some of the furniture. I have doubts about the picture collection (aside from the Breughel the Younger on the found floor) which is supposed to highlight lesser known artists.... More

This is a very lovely place to visit. Perfect for a cold rainy day outside. The furniture is exquisite as is the beautiful China on display. You can freely take photographs.

We liked many of the pieces. Well restate red pieces. The museum was once the family home. The art work collection was assembled privately based on private tastes and affordability. As such, the art work is attractive and pleasant even if they are not from masters. A must see museum while in Dijon

This museum is a private house filled with art and furnishings collected by a brother and sister (who also made some of the art such as painted vases). It is well organized and each room has an information card printed in English for those who do not read French. Unlike the city museums which are free, this one has an... More

I found the content some of the art disturbing. It is certainly crammed with art if you like that style.
