A historical museum with beautiful architecture and colorful slate roof. My favorite part of the tour was viewing the polyptych of the Last Judgement. Make note- the museum has a really wonderful gift shop and is not very appropriate for young children.

The Hotel-Dieu is located in the center of Beaune, and is the largest building there. The displays are easily viewed, and the audio guide is entertaining and enlightening. I found this to be a very moving experience. To think that someone created this hospital to care for the poor, and provided facilities that were likely better than the private homes,... More

We visited this historic site and really enjoyed the audio tour that you can take at your own pace. Beautiful history and architecture. This is a good way to spend a rainy morning or afternoon

We visited the Hospice de Beaune as part of a coach tour group. It is located in the lovely village of Beaune; be sure to leave some time to explore the winding streets, shops and cafes either before or after your visit to the museum (keep in mind that the shops are closed for lunch between 12 and 2 daily).... A highlight of our trip. The visit can be done in about an hour. The history is presented through headphones. It is such an unusual museum experience.

Many of us on this trip has never seen a historic site that was a church, hospital, and hotel all in one. Our guide filled us in on the history of this fabulous building and the many historic events. This is definitely a place you need to visit if you are in this area of France.

The history behind the Musee de l'Hotel-Dieu was impressive. Almost made one think it wouldn't be so bad to be poor and sick in the 1400's........almost! It was heart warming to read about the care the patients received, free of charge. My husband is a medical doctor so he particularly enjoyed seeing the equipment, medicines and resources that were in... More

Lovely museum with medical artifacts, exhibits about the hospices as a working hospital, art work and exhibits of the kitchen and hospital beds. The architecture of the courtyard is also absolutely stunning. Great audio guide! Also, many different varieties of Hospices de Beaune wine are available for purchase in the gift shop! YUMMMMM
