You can do better by skipping this tour. Our guide was very "textbook" and felt as though reciting a script. There is a difference with guides that are passionate about the history and winemaking process vs someone that seems to be just working at a job. Maybe part of this has to do with what feels like more of a... More

Although my favourite wine-tasting experiences in Burgundy have typically been those led by the vigneron, in his or her cellar, where English is halting and the focus is entirely on the wine, I did quite enjoy the completely different experience we had at Bouchard Pere. We sampled some of their top wines (and paid €50 a pop for the privilege),... More

We asked around town and all the locals would not recommend a winery in town for a tasting. They are all to touristy they said. When pushed we finally got our lovely and knowledgeable bartender at La dilettante to recommend one: Bouchard Pere &Fils! As I really wanted to buy some wines to bring home we headed to this winery... More

Had a visit in cellars with 3 m bottles dating from 1860's, gourgeous city wall garden and Wine shop. The company is largest owner of grand and premier cru wineyeards and gains great reviews recent vintages due to commitment to constant quality improvments. Try if possible the Beaune 1er crus and Meursault 1er crus the company famous for.

Due to complications out of our control (tour guide and agenda was not right) we were 30 mins late. We received a phone call from the staffer who was running the tour/tasting and she was extremely rude and said she didn't want to waste her time so if you're not here in 5 don't bother. We had already pre-paid and... More

This large winery is a wonderful place to tour the old cellars (especially the Private Collection) and visiting the Winery itself, as well as Maison Henriot. We were fortunate to have arranged a private tour and were not disappointed. Some 1.2 million bottles of wine in the cellar. The best part of course was the tasting in the old tasting... More

We walked in and booked a tour last minute at Bouchard. The tour took you underground into the cellar and through the castle. We learned facts about Burgundy and the wine region and at the end we were able to taste the pinots of the winery. Very friendly guide and good wine. I would recommend visiting while in Beaune.

Ok, maybe if you know nothing about Burgundy wines this may be interesting. The tour was really limited to a brief historical review, and then looking at old bottles of wine. At the tasting, most of the wines were pedestrian, and only a couple 1er cru. All in all, not a good value for 20 euro @. Disappointing.

A bit overwhelmed by choice we were advised to go to Bouchard Pere et fils. We were taken as a group of two through the cellars of the 1500's chateau and learned SO much from our intelligent friendly guide Elian. For a young man he has acquired a depth of knowledge and the ability to impart it fully in good... More
