Also known as Cathedrale de St. Vincent in some guide books. Roots of this church date back to time of Charlemagne. Current building is a mix of Roman and Gothic styles dating back to 1146-1163. Was heavily damaged in WWII when its steeple was toppled. Restoration was finally completed in 1972. The exterior is okay.... the real attraction is the beautiful interior -- especially the gorgeous stained glass windows. I also liked the modern altar. Don't miss it.

A very beautiful welcoming Cathedral in historically important Saint-Malo. Like Saint-Malo the massive Cathedral suffered major damage in WWII and restoration took 28 years, but it is now outstanding.
The old is spectacular and the modern is stunning. A rare example of old and new coming together perfectly we thought. In fact the new showcases some amazing artistic efforts by modern craftsmen. The Stained Glass windows were excellent.

Cathedral located in centre of old Saint Malo old walled city. Park outside city in public car parks then few minutes walk. Free entrance. Fantastic restored stained glass windows within the cathedral. Must see part of and visit to the old walled city in Saint Malo.

When you walk in, you can not but taken aback by the history and tribulations that must be part of the history of this magnificant house of prayer. Be sure to walk about and read all the plaques. If you can, be sure to attend service there,

We always visit churches and this time were lucky. With many others we listened t o the rehearsals of the choir singing Gregorian chants. Apart from that it is one of many cathedrals that are deteriorating in France.

As a Canadian, I found this cathedral special as it holds the tomb of Jacques Cartier, who discovered Canada in 1534. Cartier was from St-Malo and he is buried in the cathedral. Apart from this, I found the cathedral beautiful and interesting as most of them are, with detailed stained glass work, elaborate statues and paintings from various eras. There is little, if any, parking near this church since it's located amongst the cobbled streets of the inner city, behind the city walls. We left our car in a paid lot outside the walls before exploring this compact area on foot.

Originally founded in the 12th century, presenting an eclectic range of architectural styles. A most unusal feature is the descending floor plan from the main entrance in various levels to lower ground. Interesting interior structure and stained glass windows round out the eclectic experience. Definitely a place worth visiting.

This is a very beautiful cathedral in the center of the town. Well worth taking the time to visit if only to view the the stained glass windows from the inside. It was very quiet and cool with places to reflect if that is your preference. Steps lead down into the building but there may be another way to access it. No charge for entrance.

My wife and I were here on a tour. The cathedral is beautiful, like most of the cathedrals are in Europe. Maybe we're jaded, but if you were to take 20 photos of each cathedral on this tour, throw them on the table, I think you'd be hard-pressed to tell which cathedral a photo is - unless there's something that is very unique.

Lovingly rebuilt by the locals who literally numbered the fallen stones. Inside there is the Old bell on show - recently replaced - but for me the most special pieces are the dark turquoise and gold stones altar pieces. Serene and simply beautiful.
