We stayed across the road for two nights on a short autumn break from England. One afternoon we looked in here and were impressed by the eclectic well chosen selection of very good furnishings. Having had a good look around the historical features of the old town and eaten our way through a selection of cafes and restaurants this was a refreshing and useful change. Given the plethora of touristy shops, a straight up store with a fascinating stock of items very of which you covet and would actually like to buy is very welcome. Pity we didn't bring our car.

This quarter in the Town of Saint Malo (Bretagne) France, is worth your visit. It is a walled area with many ancient and historical venues, like the museum Maison Saint Malo, but the surrounding area is even more impressive.
Like amongst others, you have to visit the 'La Place du Québec' called originally the "Cavalier des Champs - Vauverts" and later in 1984 renamed in Place du Québec, to mark the 450th anniversary in 1534 of the first voyage by Jaques Cartier, born in Saint Malo 1491 - 1557 to Canada. The views over the sea from the top of the surrounding walls, enclosing the town's quarter, are fabulous. You can walk to two little islands in front, but be aware the sea levels rise and fall rapidly by the changing ties.
