There is a wide range of art and artifacts that are well presented. Some areas are kept cool and have automatic doors to keep it that way. It was a hot day and some areas were a bit warm but we did not find it unbearable. We particularly liked the set of caricatures that reflected peoples jobs and pastimes from... More

It was hot outside and even hotter inside. Nobody asked us for money so just wandered in. There is a big variety of art so you should find something you like if you go on a cooler day.

Great entry price-€5 and under 18's free. Plenty to see to suit all tastes. Staff friendly enough and not too busy with plenty of places to sit down as you walk around if you wish

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Just €5 and free to students ( my daughter had no promo but still let her in for free) variety of ages of art and some very diverse pieces. Lots of French school children of various ages.

Visited the Musee des Beaux Arts in Rouen which was superb so this was a real let down. Weak collection and the special exhibit a mere room or so.

Beautiful collections from ancient Egypt to the modern arts, and everything in between. There is currently a special collection, albeit small, of paintings from artists from Bretagne on the ground floor. I appreciate the playful use of colors to represent the country side, stoned houses and women's dresses. There is a piece of vulgar art with a woman in front... More

Good place to visit on a quiet Sunday afternoon (ist Sunday of the month free entry!) Anything from a Rubens to a picasso and some good sculpture.

The lower floor of the gallery houses temporary exhibitions and judging from the poor show when we visited, the museum must have trouble attracting first class artists. The main collections on the first floor are varied but again the examples from major artists such as Gaugin or Picasso were very much minor works. Some of this collection is in need of... More

There are not a lot of big names here, but the art is good. There is a small Gauguin and a very nice Picasso. These are not highlighted just placed among the other art. This I appreciated because you could then judge the art for arts sake not on who painted it. There is no cafe, which I would have liked.... More
