Such a beautiful village. Every step looks like a postal card. We've been amazed by the beauty of it! Elected in 2020 at "number 4 most favorite village of France" by the French (there is a annual competition), and it really deserved it. We walked in the village, bought biscuits at the "Traou Mad" (tastefull things in breton) biscuits shop, went for lunch (lots of choice), went to to the museum, walked again, went to the see the chaptel afterwards at the top of Pont Aven (by car, we were tired), what a great and beautilful day!

Beautiful village in Brittany. Picturesque and charming. But a little too touristy with thousands of people (it was Sunday). The walk along the river is spectacular with its water mills and typical houses
The village is famous for its artistic past where several famous writers and painters (such as Gauguin) lived. It still has several art galleries and many biscuit shops.

Beautiful town with river running through. Free parking and real choice of restaurants from special to good value for money. 2 or 3 good tourist shops with lovely biscuits and good pottery , interesting ranges of local salt and half a dozen galleries. Amazing liquor store with great range of French gins and Japanese whiskey 🥃. Definitely worth an hour or two ramble and another hour or two for lunch.

Pont Aven was probably the highlight of a very enjoyable two weeks in western France. Not only is it a pretty little town, but it is crammed with art galleries and good restaurants. The setting and architecture are very romantic and had me peering at real estate listings. We spent the better part of a day here and could have spent longer.

We could just picture how beautiful the town would look in the sun. Rain dampened it a bit but it was still a pleasure to stroll around the quaint streets. There were quite a few shops with artwork and other things made in the area.

Great town. Free parking.

Lovely walking down the river.

Lots of biscuit shops with free samples

Lots of art galleries to wonder around.

Not great for small children although there was a small play park which they played in after our picnic lunch.

Pony Aven is a beautiful, quaint and bustling port town. It is clearly a popular spot with tourists but not overun. There is a great selection of shops, eateries, art galleries, museum and picturesque sights. The town is filled with a river running out via the small fishing port. There are a small number of boats and the river was teeming with fish (trout I think). There was a large antique market on the Monday on the Quay. Beautiful place with great character.
