An impressive display of flowers on each of the many bridges. Very pretty. A placid setting and nice introduction to what was our first visit to Quimper.

Walked up from Pont de Poulguinan to Pont du Theatre on the south bank of the river, and then back most of the way on the opposite bank. Must be about 6 road bridges and a dozen footbridges in that one mile stretch. The whole area is clean and well maintained with flowers in planters on many of the bridges,... More

The most interesting thing about this river is the number of foot bridges which criss-cross the river. These are often decorated with flowers and add to the beauty of this lovely town.

We visited parts of the Odet river between, and including, Benodet and Quimper. The water is very clear and, especially noticeable in Quimper, is affected by the tide: noticeably less full when the tide is out. The Odet is also a working river - which you can experience when you visit Benodet. Leisure and tourism are both important here, including... More

Pleasant trip, with commentary about various points of interest. About 90 minutes to Benodet from the port linked to Quimper. Benodet is holiday resort, clean, good sandy beach, easy walk along prom. Plenty moorings for boats in large marina with associated chandlery. Need bus link from Quimper to the departure point a bit down river, and this was not all... More

Sorry but its hard to get excited about just a river?! It doesn't have any amazing features. You walk past it when you park the car and want to walk into town.....that is about it!

Lovely stroll by the river, so many bridges over it that the children liked running from one to the other.

Walk along the Odet River from the Cathedral down two or three bridges and then turn right and wander through the historic district. Beautiful way to spend a Spring or Autumn afternoon.

Really lovely river walk, with its little "ponts" full with flowers and little gardens also. You can sit down near them and contemplate the view, eat something or just relax.
