My husband and I walked this canal, for only a short distance, compared with how long it is. There is a lot of historical information on the internet about this canal, which is very interesting. We accessed the canal at Pontivy and walked for several...More

We spent a week travelling by barge (Locaboat - very good) on the canal this last summer. Beautiful French farmland interspersed with small villages with middle age central squares. The town of Josselin was the high point of our out and back trip. The canal...More

Used the canal whilst cycling a return linear route from Rohen to Josselin The path is alright in most areas, but there were a couple of sections not really suitable for skinny road tyres, but coped OK Plenty of places to grab a drink, which was...More

We‘ve enjoyed the the Canal for a nice relaxing walk from Josselin to Saint Gobrien (visiting the charming chapel there). It is a kind of romantic walk, wonderful for taking pictures galore.

All the Nantes Brest Canal is very beautiful and easy to ride by bike, but near Josselin is specially beautiful because of the imponent silouette of the castle. I reccomend without any doubt to do some km up or down stream (it is almost flat),...More

Took a wander along this from St Sansom to Rohan, and again around Gouarec. It's absolutely lovely, well maintained and well-used enough that it's peaceful without feeling too isolated.

We drove to Josselin which is a destination in itself, very beautiful, amazing chateau right on the canal. There is virtually no flat land in Josselin except alongside the canal. Fold up bikes (which we bought at Leclerc supermarket) were unloaded and with coffee and...More

We used Nicholls for 2 weeks on the Canal du Midi. If ever we rented again, would probably go for Locaboat because their design is actually better suited to getting on and off and having a better deck plan. However... More
