I visited Le Puy en Velay in August 2006 and had a fascinated guided tour of the old town and the cathedral. Following our guide, we made our way around the building where we could see St. Michel Aiguilhe, next to the town, an enormous...More

A long walk up to an impressive building, with little to see when we arrived! Not sure I'd bother again!

Wow! So beautiful. We were all alone at the top. It’s beautiful and peaceful. There was some singing in a backroom, it was very fitting. It’s much easier to walk up than it looks!

In any other place would be really worthwhile, but overshadowed by Statue Notre Dame. Long climb to chapel and good views from around the base.

Climbed up here with half an hour to kill and I'm so glad I did. Beautiful views across the town and the chapel is utterly beautiful. The best €3 I've spent.

Just visited here again some years after a previous visit. It is an amazing place and you have to wonder how they built it. As you drive into or around Le Puy En Velay you see this in the distance and it is stunning. Admission...More

A lovely little chapel after a good climb of over 286 steps. Gives fantastic views back over the city.

Climbing the steps is not as difficult as it seems. Make sure you go to the chapel at the base. The views are spectacular and the interior is breathtaking. The history wraps itself around you as you puruse it’s interior and walk around it’s exterior....More

We visited on a day early in September and there were few people around. We parked in the town and walked out, approx. 15 mins to the base of the rock with some amazing photo opportunities. The climb is not difficult - plenty of places...More

Really an amazing feat of construction! Well worth the climb. Beautiful murals inside the chapel. Over 200 steps though!

The entrance fees are a bit overpriced but the site is very nice and offers incredible views on the surroundings from the top.

We visited the Chapelle just about one year ago. I believe it was 268 steps to the top. Easy climbing, spectacular setting and incredible views. We would definitely return for another visit
