We had three amazing journeys with avck ! (Tursac , la roque saint Christophe and St-Leon sur Vézère) The staff is amazing and really kind with you, even when you’re sometimes late. The transport was nice, so as the canoes ! It’s also really nice to have a snack near the water after !😉 A big thank to Robert who was our chauffeur two times out of three, it was really nice to talk to you and, my dog really appreciated you lol 🐕. And also thanks to the (ear tattooed) guy (sorry I don’t know your name 😬) for my phone that my mom had forgotten in the canoe ! (Yup we’re french but I’m writing in English so it can reach more people)

7 of us went today for our first paddle boarding trip today. It was great fun and we were out nearly the whole hour and was well worth the money. There was lots of activities available and we will be back to do some. We were looked after by Scottish gentleman who was really friendly and helpful

We had an amazing day with AVCK canoes. We phoned to book 3 single sit on canoes the day before for the 25km route. The man spoke fantastic English ( although I speak a little french it does make conversation easier ) it was a very easy booking process and he even gave us directions over the phone of how to get there. We were told to arrive 30 mins before the departure time of 9.45. When we arrived we signed a form and paid the money ( they accept card payment ). We were given our storage container, paddle and life jacket and a laminated booklet with safety information, places to look out for and sights to see. There is a toilet which was very clean and two very well made wooden changing rooms. The shop sells a few snacks, ice creams and waterproof camera holders, which I would definitely recommend. They also had sunglasses and beach shoes etc. We left the car in the car park and were loaded into a mini bus and driven to our starting point. We found it so much better to be canoeing back to our car rather than to a pick up point because it meant that there were no time constraints. If I’m honest the mini bus drive was very bumpy and did make us feel a bit sick so we were very glad when we arrived. The man took our canoes to the water and explained a few things to us then we were off ! The Verzere was so beautiful and calm and although the water was low we only had to get out once. There were a few places where the water ran a little faster but it was great. There were no weirs ( unlike the Dronne ). The overhanging rocks and lilies on the water were stunning. Although there were other canoes and a few fisherman the river was so peaceful. The 25km should take around 5 1/2 hrs non stop but we stopped a couple of times and took loads of photos and got back to the base after 7hrs and 15 mins. They were open until 7pm so there was no rush. We found it trick following the guide book as there were some landmarks that we couldn’t see ( possible because of the trees ) so it was hard to work out where we were in the map. Our canoes had back rests which was great but the single sit on canoes only had two drainage holes ( unlike others we’ve been in which have more ) in the bottom so the water didn’t drain away meaning my husband and I were sitting in 3 inches of water for 7 hours, our daughter ( being lighter was much drier ). As it was a hot day it wasn’t too much of a problem. Such a beautiful day ( one of the best days of our holiday ). I would definitely recommend. I would definitely recommend.

Merci beaucoup pour votre contribution trèsdétaillée. Je suis heureux que vous ayez tous passé une belle journée malgré le côté physique du long parcours et les fesses mouillées !

We booked the canoeing and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Booking was easy, just turn up and book, they speak really good English as well. We booked one day and canoed the next, you will need to arrive 30mins before to collect all your equipment and get in the bus to the start. We did the 19km (about 11miles) and it took us about 4 hours as we stopped on route for a picnic (oh and we capsized ...wife’s fault 🤪) you can take as long as you like but you need to be back before 19:00. There is plenty of safe free car parking and they sell drinks and ice creams on site. We paid €21 per person for the 19km, fantastic price for a day out. You get a barrel to put all your personal belonging in as well as your food and drink. Just make sure to secure this in the canoe properly with the strap provided. The views are amazing and very peaceful. Oh, they also give you a guide to the river (which we lost when we capsized) all about the history of that part of the river and some of the wildlife you may in-counter on route.

Canoe Raid in Siorac, on the river Dordogne, hires out canoes and kayaks (singles) either starting in Siorac with subsequent canoe pick-up in Le Buisson or Limeuil, or offers transport upstream for up to two 'stages' and canoe return to Siorac at the end of the trip. All equipment provided and prices are reasonable. It always pays to book in advance and Saturdays are often the slackest. Try a shorter trip to start with unless you have previous experience.
