An interesting, though small, site showing how the Cro Magnon lived. First you see a little movie, then you go on a self guided tour.

Thank you for your review.

Very dull sight, not much to see and you are done in about 10 minutes. You sit through a 3D tour that lasted longer than the experience itself.

Not worth the money for a rock shelter with a few interpretation boards and an amateurish reconstruction of a prehistoric tent.

Such an important prehistoric site but there was minimal interpretive material present on site so we just looked and soaked in the location.

We paid a supplement for Laugerie when touring Grottes du Gran Roc. It actually proved to be our favorite part of the visit. The signage was excellent and it provided us with a much better understanding of the life of Cro-magnon. The site is stunning....More

This is a double site covering the Grotte du Grand Roc and the prehistoric dwellings of Laugerie-Basse. In the Grotte du Roc there are fascinating examples of stalagtites and stalagmites and some beautiful examples of crystalline formations. The English guide (Elizabeth) gives an excellent description...More

Interesting take on how prehistoric man may have lived. This part of the visit started with an interesting 3D video, explaining in some detail what you were about to see in Laugerie Basse, which certainly helped make it more interesting. Only worth visiting if you...More
