Probably stating the obvious, but it does pay to visit local tourist offices when touring the Dordogne as they provide a wealth of information. This one is no exception.

The staff was really helpful and kind. Plenty of info about the region. You can visit the Maison du Vin crossing a door and buy excellent local wines downstairs. I would put 5 stars if the exhibition was more detailed.

Sitting by the river means having a splendid view on the Dordogne, not far from there is Creysse where they have weekly live music in summer on the terrasse by the river, lots of fun! Good food! Many English!
