I adore Biarritz; it has everything - sun, sea, mountains and lush green stretches away from the coast. Cuisine is excellent, especially seafood. It maintains some of the old charm of days gone by whilst still catering for travellers wishing to see the traditional way of life. Basque villages surrounding Biarritz and Bayonne are delightful and worthwhile visiting. The atmosphere... More

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Very interesting walkway along the rocky coast. Beautiful views. Fabulous for photography. The tides here are unexpectedly large. Allow some very unusual transformations

You have to see Biarritz if you are looking for a romantic getaway. It is a lovely place for a walking and sea is just beautiful with all the big waves. You can simply take a long stroll on the beach walk and pier to watch the waves crash in. It is really stunning place and even in November you... More

We live only 1 1/2 of Biarritz and have family nearby so it's always a great place to meet and then go surfing, or for the less active to just go for a very nice walk visiting all the nook and crannies along this stunning coast

Go, go, go to the French Basque coast. We stayed at Biarritz and had a wonderful time. The local staff and folk are charming and very helpful, most speak english, but they love it when you try your french out on them! Food is delicious, lots of seafood: crab, lobster, langoustine, prawn, mussels etc in tomato garlicky stews, good steaks,... More

Once you scale the steps to the beach, the beaches are amazing. The Grande Plage is not that big and only good for watching surfers and a gentle stroll. If you want a beach walk, go further south round the point. You can walk for miles, watch more surfing, swim or simply enjoy a relatively uncrowded space to lie in... More

Watch the sunsets from one of the bars or promenade. Not much if any beach at high tide and waves break directly onto the breakwall, Much more sand on lower tides.

Grand scenery, unique culture, superb beaches and good people. A fabulous finale to a 1200km cycle tour from St Malo to Bilbao.

We were in Biarritz for 2 days. The place is beautiful but too touristy and the restaurants were not as good as in the basque coast in Spain. Two days is more than enough.

Overall I wasn't that taken back by Biarritz in general. However I was bowled over by the charming views over this small bridge. It was lovely to sit at the top of the rock just watching the world go by! Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.
