I was told that there was a cute little farmer’s market every Sunday morning along the Garonne River Quay just north of Quinconces (often referred to as the Marche des Quais). So on Sunday morning after the usual French breakfast of coffee and toast with jam, I put on shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes for a brisk walk along... More

Want to experience a true French market? Not only is this a delightful spot to visit, the food stalls offer a comprehensive and fabulous array of items. Get fresh oysters, pate, and local treats such as the famous Bordeaux canele pastry. How to get there? Take the tram B line to stop Victoire and walk about 3 blocks (maps at... More

This was a very interesting, large, and fun market! Lots of local produce, vegetables, fish, chickens, and also interesting local seafood and especially delicious local oysters to eat there or take home! Local Bordeaux "vin de pays." Cheese of all kinds. Shop, have brunch or lunch, buy what you like for supper, or, as the Bordeaux folk do, buy for... More

A perfect place to stroll and marvel at the food on offer, both for immediate consumption and for the weekly shop. Plenty of fruit and pastries for breakfast, we also enjoyed some savoury crepes and sat at the tables by the van with our collection of breakfast items. Getting a coffee proved challenging with no specific outlet present, but a... More

Good to experience a busy French produce market. Massive range of fruit, veg, cheese, meats, bread. We were told that on Sundays there are antiquities as well, but there was only one none produce stall selling hats and bags. However we picked up a few things to make a picnic which was lovely.

We loved this place and the options it offered for a varied and rich breakfast on Sunday morning, the last morning of our trip to Bordeaux. We started out with the classic of having a half dozen oysters with a glass or white wine and some bread and butter for just six euros a pop. Continuing along the market they... More

Arrived at this very picturesque market setting which is certainly worth the walk to even just look without buying a thing. We tried the very freshest orange juice followed by a box of fresh rasberries, then a perfectly prepared crepe de Grand Marnier and to finish the best flavoured not too flaky croissant. It's a great place to aquatint yourself... More

Visited here a bit later in the afternoon just as we arrived in Bordeaux and there was still some great foody things to try. The oysters with a glass of local white wine is a must for any oyster lover at only €7. Delicious. The freshly juiced oranges also delicious and well worth €2. On a less sunny afternoon we... More

I loved everything about this charming market in Bordeaux! The fresh seafood, the different vendors selling their wares (I bought honey soap, my husband bought goats milk cheese and wine) and the vibe of the entire place is so friendly and casual. One of my best experiences in Bordeaux was our Sunday spent exploring here.

Great open market of fresh local produce on Sunday mornings. Lovely walking along the riverfront from Quai Chartrons all the way to the Bourse. At Chartrons end, large outlet shoping area, wide selection.
