About
Not to be confused with its more famous namesake in Paris, this 11th century church is beautiful in its own right, with its elaborately carved facades and detailing.

I am not usually enamoured of Baroque-style buildings but this stunningly beautiful church absolutely nails the proportions and seems so...right. Quite took my pagan breath away.

The church façade overlooks a quiet square with a bronze statue of Goya, who once lived there. The 19th century paintings on the walls inside are interesting, and the main altar a good example of baroque style.

When visiting Bordeaux, visting its cathedral is a must. Pay good attention to the outside architecture: the gotic elements are clear, but also the older parts of the front of the church are worth a second glance. The inside is typical French Gotic with some...More

We fled from the blazing heat in this spiritual refuge. But it wasn't just the heat outside that kept us in the Notre Dame Church. It may not have the tourist pull of its August Cathedral cousin in Paris but its sparsity is no less...More

Another stunning church on our walking tour of Bordeaux. All the churches are so different. We are amazed at the architecture and how long they have survived.
