Nice shopping street. We arrived in our airbnb this evening. Sunday many shops are unfortunately closed. nice shops. If you continue walking you come to a part where the students live. There is busier in terms of restaurants and cafes.

We loved to stroll along this pedestrianised shopping street in the historic centre of Bayonne. The arcades, the typical Basque houses and the enticing view on the twin spires of the cathedral make it particularly attractive

Normally an attraction for tourists, if you wish to avoid the crowds, perhaps try visiting after breakfast when the streets are quieter.

We enjoyed walking around old town Bayonne and this street was one of the highlights because of the variety of traditional patisserie (local pastry shops). You won’t miss Le Port Neuf if you are wondering through Bayonne as it’s the central path really.

This narrow and atmospheric street is one of the oldest in the city and has a good selection of individual shops and cafes as well as a couple of bars. With the spires of the cathedral at the top end it is also photogenic.
As we were staying in the hotel of the same name we had plenty of time to explore and enjoy this lovely area.

Full of character, this is a wonderful place to soak up the Basque culture with its plethora of historic buildings that lead up to the Gothic Cathedral. Nice shops and eateries.

Access street to the historic center of Bayonne with its wooden houses and various colors, being in the center the Cathedral with its cloister.

cozy shopping street. Nice little shops. Not everything is open on Sundays. Walk out of the shopping street and walk along the boulevard (the water).
