The Museum has a free parking place, and offers activities for small children (kindergarden Age) till School Age. It cooperates with the matematikum in Giessen ,Germany and has a Special hall for math activities that can be entertaining or frustrating for the children (depends on the parents).
The descriptions of the activities are in 3 languages: English, French and German. The entree fee is aceptable for the time one can consume in this Museum. The Museum offers 3D explanatory movies , audio and vdeo as well as lots of self trying activities in and outdoors.
During the weekdays there are many kindergarden and School Groups , a matter to be taken on account regarding the waiting time.
It is a quite a pitty that the name of the Museum doesn't Pop out when browsing for 'activities with Kids in Straßburg' .

This was a great day out. I went with my friends and we spent at least 3-4 hours in there. There are loads of sections: Maths, Logic etc. This wasn't like most science centres I visited, there are some hard Maths puzzles to try if you like a challenge. Overall I had a very good experience and I would recommend it to people.

There is not a lot of information online. When we went there, it was much smaller than expected. Everything is on one floor. You can finish your stay in about 2 hours. The exhibit areas are for different ages. The 3-6 years area is a construction zone. The rest would be too boring for that age. The slightly older kids may be interested in the puzzles. The human body area was very boring for all ages.

The cafeteria does not have much: only a vending machine with bottled drinks and candy bars. There is a small coffee shop in the cafeteria. That's all. Bring your own food if you have young children to feed.

Entry is 12 EUR. If you buy the Strasbourg City Card, you only pay 6 EUR for admission. Since the city card for children is 4 EUR, you already save 2 EUR by buying the city card.

The parc de la citadelle is just across the street. If you plan to visit both places, you can combine them. Just male sure to bring food for your children.

We stumbled upon Le Vaisseau from a local’s recommendation while on a visit to strasbourg. What a god-send on one of those rainy days stuck indoors with two very young children (1 and 3) who just want to run around. It’s well-conceptualized for young ages (experiment tables at both higher and lower heights), easy to move around with a stroller in tow, restrooms and cafe on site, and you are allowed one re-entry on the same day, which lets you go out for lunch. Great welcome by the staff, clean and interesting learning areas, not too crowded if you happen to be there on a weekday morning, besides some school groups. We found it much better adapted to young ages and less crowded than the geode in Paris. I also recommend l’Ère Végane for a quick lunch break, just a couple minutes’ walk away, serving non-pretentious, delicious vegan food with a small play area for toddlers and kids.

The Vaisseau is a wonderful place. We spent over three hours and were far from exploring all the attractions and exhibits. There is simply so much to learn, too many things to touch. The kids really loved it, and the did not even know they were learning. The caffeteria offers basic fast food style meals (sandwiches, pannini), even if the coffee was really bad. I suggest arriving before lunch, as the afternoon tends to become crowded (which is less fun).

The Vaisseau is out of the city center but accessible by public transport. It`s one of those " Science can be fun " places and even though I spent a few fun hours there with a twelve year old, I would recommend it for younger children. It`s not very big but there is a nice variety of activities indoors and out. There is also a restaurant and a gift shop.

This is a great educational but fun place for kids from 3-15. The areas are well-spaced and everything worked as it should. The focus is on kids interacting as much as possible to discover science hands-on.

There are both permanent and changing exhibitions -- the temporary music area was a particular delight for kids of all ages! There is a decent shop with science-related toys.

Downsides are that there didn't appear to be anybody on hand to help explain the exhibits, the toilets were not kept clean during the day and the cafe is not open every day, which we found a bit strange.

We visited early in the day and so it wasn't too busy. Your ticket allows one re-entry during the day, so we headed into Strasbourg for lunch and came back at the end of the day, after the crowds had gone.

Recommended for all!

Second time here and kids absolutely love it. Really interesting for adults as well, good explanations as to how things work.
A must for families if in Strasbourg.

My child being only 4y old enjoyed the building site and the expositions on water, human body and machines… actually almost everything. The whole parcours takes about 2-3h, which is enough for children's attention, they can always play longer at the building site or the playgrounds (with good weather). The only drawback is the cafeteria, being quite small it can't serve guests needs (mostly families) quickly and the food runs out too. So its worth bringing your own food for lunch (or eating before/after going there) as they have an open food area.
