Decided to go in because of pouring rain but made a great decision to rest awhile seeing the importance of this museum, neatly presented, great collections from 15th to 19th century but I think it's limited and I would suggest that they should more of those classical works that tells about the greatness of Strasbourg.

Nice venue. Collection of predominantly paintings from 1500. Till 1900. Average quality with some notable positive exceptions. Good address for a couple of interesting hours.

Surprisingly rich collection in a beautiful setting (Palais de Rohan). Some medieval and Renaissance masterpieces for connoisseurs! The 17th to 19th century collection also has some lovely pieces

Very impressive little museum in charming palace-like building; close to the main touristic spot (the Cathedral).

Perhaps I'm spoiled, but I really think this beautiful city deserves more paintings of a variety of artists. I think there is an emphasis on local artists.

In a wing of the Palace Rohan, on several floors. Great collection and well presented. Nice rainy day visit.

I would not recommend this museum for somebody who is not really keen on naturalism and realism. There are almost none expressionism paintings or anything similar.

The museum is located in the Palais Rohan just across the square from the Cathedral. Purchase a combined 1 day pass (Pass 1 Jour) for €6 euro (2016) which gives entry into 12 different attractions of the Musees De La Ville De Strasbourg. This museum has some interesting pieces by the Masters such as Botticelli, Raphael, Ruebens, Goya and Delacroix.... More

The collection covers the 14th to 19th century and has some beautiful works by well known artists as well as some excellent pieces by artists that were new to me. Well worth the entrance fee. A word of warning though - the galleries are only accessible via a staircase so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

This museum could be the museum of a capital city. I did not expect to find so many masterpieces there. And also not so well known pieces by well know painters. And masterpieces from not well known painters.
