I went to visit the museum an hour before closing and the friendly staff there recommended that I would need at least 2 hours, so instead I returned the next day. How right they were, I spent 4 hours here! The free audible guide took me through every stage of Strasbourg history with info and enacted dialogues that really brought... More

Does not offer much from the outside, but be prepared,to be shocked it is truly beautiful an amazing exhibition covering Alsase history. You can spend at least a couple of hours 😄 Well worth the entrance fee.

With its large number of medieval and early modern artifacts, this museum will immerse you in the past. And there are surprises! Early scientific models of plant and animal anatomy, for example. And a pipe organ that sounded its notes with flames! For me the best part was to see actual posters from the Nazi era and from the backlash... More

Great to do with the audio guide, it gave a good overview of the richness of this region, and the constant change between French to German. The museum also doesn't hide the history of Strasbourg's persecution and exclusion of the Jewish people, which had been rampant since the mid 1300s. Learning more about the "free city" was interesting too. The... More

Surprisingly very good little museum very close to the Cathedral which takes you from the earliest times of Strasbourg right through to the European Union. Comes with free interactive tour which is in perfect english. Thought it would be 45 mins and ended up almost taking 2 hours. Fantastic huge map half way through is probably the highlight.

We arrived at the Museum and were immediately absorbed with the layout. Very good audio guides which automatically told the stories as you moved around. Very thought provoking especially on the day the UK voted to leave Europe!
