We have seen this several times and always admire it, it gave me great pleasure to explain to a couple of New Yorkers why it was there, it had never occurred to them that the designer was French, from Colmar. They then purchased a postcard explaining the origin of the statue. A lovely piece of work.

This replica of the Statue of Liberty stands proudly in a roundabout just within the city limits of Colmar, France. It was constructed here since Colmar is the birthplace of August Bartholdi, who sculpted the one given to the United States. My wife and I have been avoiding travel to the US due to COVID. So, it was a pleasant surprise to find it here during the Christmas holiday. We felt like we were back home...even if only for a few minutes. Standing at just under 40 feet tall, this replica was dedicated on 4 July 2004 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bartholdi's death. It stands at the north entrance of the city. While you can see this in only a few minutes, if you are in Colmar, it is worth the time!

To commemorate the artist, the town in 2004 (the year of the centenary of Bartholdi’s death) had a copy of the 12-meter-high statue built that was installed in the center of a large, busy roundabout. We parked the car in a nearby parking lot and took pictures waiting for traffic to clear from the roundabout. In any case it was exciting

Nice experience if you come by anyway.... We were a little surprised when we unexpectedly saw the stue of liberty in a round trip in Colmar. But then we remembered that the statue is originally French and that there is a similar model in the Seine in Paris. Nice to have seen her, but KS be able to spend time looking for her

Colmar is a very beautiful city. It is very picturesque, with beautiful houses, in the architecture of the wider region of Alsace, especially near the river. The Statue of Liberty L is a beautiful Attraction, similar to that of New York. The only thing I didn't like is the carbonara we ate in a restaurant next to the main church, it was the worst I've ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit.

You can see it before entering the city. Very beautiful, made of resin, 12 meters high. Opened in 2004 to commemorate the anniversary of the death of its original New York statue author, Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. On the ground in the city there are all the triangles with the statue design.

It is a beautiful statue, replica of the Statue of Liberty. They named it in honor of the person who made it, Bartholdi, a native of Colmar.
Personally, I think they could have chosen a better location so that it can be seen better, it is on a roundabout in an industrial area with a lot of traffic. Still worth seeing.

The only reason the statue of Liberty (on a smaller scale) is here, is the fact its sculptor August Bartholdi is Colmar native.
The Statue stands at the northern suburbs roundabout.
While I was driving here I knew exactly what I'm about to see, but seeing it wrapped in Ukrainian flag deeply touched me.

Interesting to see that there is another Statue of Liberty. This one standing in the middle of round about. The designer, August Bartholdi, was born in Colmar.
