We booked our cruise on Swiss Corona with Riviera Travel to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The whole experience more than lived up to our expectations and I agree with everything in MaryManchester's review. The most special memory for us will be enjoying the gourmet French dinner in the intimate Lido Bar at the rear of the boat, whilst watching... More

We have just returned from our first river cruise. We sailed down the Rhone and Soane with Riviera Travel on the Swiss Corona. I could not fault the experience. The ship was extremely comfortable with a number of public areas which allowed you to sit inside or outside and enjoy the views wherever you were. The crew were amazing. Nothing... More

Cruise was a Vantage Travel vacation that went to Provence, Beaujolais and Burgundy, First the reasons that I can not rate it a 5: One of the persons at reception was not friendly, never smiled and acted as though she was annoyed every time someone made an inquiry. The complimentary wines were less than average and the bottles offered for... More

We were stunned to have our 2015 cruise cancelled by email 3 days before we were to board in Avignon. Luckily we had not left home yet. The abrupt "cruise cancelled" email stated we would receive a further call but after 6 hours I began calling Viking. The phone number they had provided would ring for 30 minutes and then... More

Riviera does not have the newest ships the best berths or the best dining experience with free wines but they are definitely the best value for money. General opinion among our fellow passengers was that the Swiss Corona is not quite five star but perhaps four and a half mainly because of the food which is very good indeed but... More

Swiss Corona is an immaculately maintained and very friendly vessel. The food is excellent and the service exceptional. Since it is entirely filled with clients of Riviera Travel (their organization is superb), who are mostly elderly married couples, it may not be the best option for those people seeking to travel with a more cosmopolitan group of passengers with a... traveled to Lyon by Eurostar and TGV, and picked up the cruise vessel Swiss Corona. Very well appointed boat, and well looked after by the crew. Next day after a trip to the Basillica and the old town we departed along the Saone to Challon, then wound our way back through Lyon, onto the Rhone and down as far as... More

Just ending our 9 day Avalon Waterways River Cruise on the Ship "Affinity." This was the second time using this company and all has been wonderful. The 100 all adult international passenger guests were provided outstanding service compatible to their needs. The chef prepared daily gourmet meals were delicious. Relaxing in the library or club room was a nice alternative... More

I am currently cruising on a Viking River boat cruise down the Rhone. This is the fifth day of a seven day cruise. So far, we have actually spent 2 hours cruising the river and that was at 5:00am. I was told to pack my bags in order for Viking to change ships and am currently being bussed around 40... More

Burgundy, the River Rhone & Provence - MS Countess 16/2/2016 A disaster. Rhone was dangerously high and very fast flowing with logs and trees as an added hazard. Of course this was not Riviera Travel fault, but the river had been closed to passenger cruises for three days before we arrived!! The cruise should have been cancelled before we left... More
