Nice atmosphere
Oct 2021 • Couples
Unfortunately the only dish we cared for were not served, so we only had a drink. Nice atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. I really liked the furnishing. Very English and genuine over all.

Nice decor
May 2019 • Friends
Called in for drinks before dinner, Plenty of seating and very nice decor, seems like it was recently refurbished, Good choice of draught beers and lagers all reasonably priced for city center. Only negative was the overpowering smell of varnish which was apparently due to the floors etc upstairs being done. Other than that a great visit and will visit again,,

A Gin Menu with no Prices
Feb 2019 • Couples
Visited on a very buzzy late Friday afternoon with a mix of students, older folk and early leavers from work.
Friendly service with decent beers but very few gins. They were on a menu with no prices and when we asked the answer was “They’re all different prices”! First time we’d seen a drinks menu without prices; maybe put them on the menu!
Malbec by the glass wasn’t great.

Late afternoon visit
Jul 2018 • Couples
Went in here late on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy and very noisy. The beer and the wine were fine. What you would expect from a town centre pub. Good value for money.

Much better than the original pub
Jul 2018 • Couples
Never any problem getting served in here.
Another really busy pub at times and friendly people that drink there.
Food that we have had has always been good.

A traditional pub with a modern touch!
Apr 2018 • Friends
This traditional Holts pub is found on John Dalton Street, just round the corner from Albert Square & the Townhall in Manchester...

The pub offers a range of Joseph Holts cask ales plus the usual other drink options such as wine, cider, etc... all at reasonable prices for the city centre...

Pub grub is also apparently available but we just called in for a few drinks...

The pub has a downstairs room with plenty of sesting plus an upstairs room with rooftop beer garden that can be hired out...

The bar staff are friendly and welcoming... great city centre pub, with that traditional old boozer feel but with the odd modern touch... well worth a visit...

A proper pub !
Mar 2018 • Friends
This is a busy city centre pub ,the atmosphere is of a traditional friendly pub ,the food is okay for a cheap and cheerful lunch ,the house wine very nice but by far the biggest asset is the lovely staff who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful . Definitely worth a visit but no airs and graces it’s a pub !
