I had not been here for a, while. This is a lovely place to go for a circular walk. Easy paths, lovely wide open lake, with greenery and trees, lots of wild birds of different varieties to see. Enjoyable for all ages. Parking available.

So peaceful (when idiotas are not using their toy water boats on the lake), you can walk round and they have plenty of trees & nature - not like some parks where they've started taking trees down to make way for humans.

They also have a place you can bring green waste !!!
Muy bueno.

A fantastic place to go to for a walk plus a little extra walking gets you to Trafford water park. Inbetween both of them is Jackson's boat, a great pub and somewhere to eat.

The River Mersey is a hidden gem along most of its route from Stockport west across Greater Manchester, but there are miles of cycle paths and walkways. Chorlton Water Park is only part of a much larger riverside access but is easily accessible from the Metrolink and Park and Ride Facilities. This very much walk the dog or ride the bike country, and though I have neither I still enjoy being out in the countryside so near the city. For some visitors the Mersey may seem a little over engineered into a controlled watercourse, but these are flood control measures which leave a lot of woodland and meadowland to be enjoyed. It requires quite an imagination to conjure up days long ago when small settlements like Chorlton and Hardy were just a few feet above a wide boggy plain (mostly now drained and built over since the middle of the 19th century). While this may not be worth going to visit, if you live locally or fancy a change give it a try. I particularly like starting out at the western end of Beech Road where suitable refreshment is available at all hours and the paths sufficiently all-weather that I have been able to push my grandchildren on long walks (which they slept through).
