Poor Customer Service
Oct 2020 • Friends
New women who are working there are running the place down.
Club hire for Pitch & Putt a shambles, they have not took deposits as they have for last 40 years and all the clubs have been stolen.
Customer service appalling... They said over the phone they had lots of Clubs available but when we got there that wasn't the case.
They have no interest in golf.

Cracking track

Played here for the first time in over 10 years and the course was in outstanding condition. There is a great mix of holes, which will test your game. Very underrated. Definitely worth a trip.

Best £10 you can spend to play golf
Sep 2018 • Couples
£10 after mid day has to be the bargain of the year, the greens were poor but the rest of the course and views made up for that, not one for the faint hearted as it’s probably the most hilly course I’ve ever played

Good challenging course
Mar 2018 • Friends
After moving nearby to Heaton Park, my friend and I decided try the local course.

This course is very picturesque, but extremely hilly and quite open.

After building my confidence on the front nine, the back nine got challenging but rewarding too.

Definitely recommend and happy to have on my doorstep to try again soon.

One of the best courses in NW England

Challenging, picturesque, hilly (mountainous) great test of golf. Off the deck all year round rather than mats.

Best municipal around

Good friendly staff, basic, good value food, and two golf courses of which many exclusive clubs would be envious.

Enjoyable pitch and putt
Apr 2017 • Family
Took kids for the morning, they have previously played pitch and putt at Towneley Park. Although bank holiday the course wasn't too busy and we were able to go round without too much waiting. The course is fairly challenging especially for those of us who aren't golfers and quite large so a fair bit of walking required. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to complete the course, the 11 year old was losing a little interest by the end but we managed to drag her round! All in all a good way to spend a morning (or afternoon) cost £6 for adults and £5 for kids including club hire, unlike elsewhere balls and tees aren't included so if you have them I would recommend taking your own or you'll have to pay 50p per ball and buy tees (you could manage without) for £1.50 a bag.

Pitch+putt followed by a nice picnic
Aug 2015 • Family
The main building wasnt open to the public when we went last, but we werent too concerned as we were there for the pitch and putt then a picnic..

You can hire everything you need if you havent clubs,balls,etc.. and its great fun and also very relaxing, whether your a couple, group of friends or family..
Though Its NOT the best P+P i have ever used..The greens certainly need a bit of TLC and there are alot of clod marks where people dont bother replacing divots.
Shame on some users,as otherwise there are a fair few interesting holes worth playing..

There are loads of grounds off away from the course which you can walk about and pick your picnic spot, which we did on a lovely summers day and notice a fair few others doing the same.

However there is a bar / restaurant at the entrance/exit of the course which we did`nt use bar for the toilet facilities which were clean..

Im not sure if the main house is yet open to the public but when it is I will certainly be trying it out along with another round of P+P..see you there for a round;)

Pitch and Putt
May 2016 • Friends
On the whole not a bad course, however the state of the tees left something to be desired. Most of the tees were all weather ones, but in need of being renewed.
The weather recently was probably the cause of not the best greens. There were patches and puddles of mud on at least 3.
I was surprised at the pace of the greens and the hilly nature of the course made for an interesting round. Well worth the fiver for the Par3 18 holes.

Fun Time
Nov 2015 • Family
Mt son wanted to know what playing golf was like. So decided one afternoon weather was not to bad to take him on the Pitch & Putt.
Good fun not very expensive and quality time with my son and he loved it. Great being able to be out doors and do something fun other than his playstation.
You can play with kids or adults and at your own pace and with no time limit so you can relax and have a good walk in the park whilst enjoying yourself.
I would reccomend this to famailies as its just great to get everyone out and about. Club hire is from the golf shop then a short walk to the course. Is advisable to take a rucksack with drinks and snacks in.
