Fantastic riding school for all levels, by far the best in Manchester.
Horse are very much cared for and the staff are a credit to the stables. A real gem of a business in Wythenshawe Park

Outstanding across the board

You couldn't ask for a better riding school. I have been riding with Serena, at Wythenshawe, since June. Since day one, she has coached me with a smile always on her face and giving me the best feedback possible throughout all my lessons. You can see she really cares about your progression and wants you to keep your passion for riding and horses, by the way she runs the riding school. She is always extremely accommodating and will help you with your riding in whatever way she can.

The rest of the staff at Wythenshawe are also lovely. They welcome you with friendly faces and you can really see the team pull together to make the riding school run smoothly and efficiently.

Not forgetting the wonderful horses!! All the horses are gorgeous to ride and I love that when you have a favourite, they are more than happy to try and let you ride him/her as much as possible in the lessons.

Don't look anywhere else for your riding school. If you are starting as a beginner or experienced rider, they will make sure to suit your needs and help you reach your goals. I highly recommend this riding school to anyone and everyone of all levels, sizes and ages!

I couldn't thank them enough for all they have done for me! I love this riding school.

Will not be returning
Sep 2020 • Family
I am sad to say we will not be returning after today. Five weeks ago we started attending the stables with my 5 year old daughter and booked two consecutive weeks of ride outs, with Ethan who was lovely, very friendly. We followed this with booking a months worth of lessons (accompanied by one other child) each Sunday, of which today was the third lesson. Each week my daughter has been with Ellie who was a fantastic teacher, very patient. This week we arrived and were abruptly greeted by another female teacher with red hair who was extremely unfriendly and unable to raise a smile the whole time. She is clearly unhappy in her role and unsuited to a role requiring people skills. Following the lesson, when we went in the office to pay, I asked to continue the booking of lessons throughout October, since we only have one week left of this month. I was advised that this particular teacher would be teaching the lessons going forward, which was less than appealing, however my little girl loves it, so I would have continued to take her. However I was then advised by this particular teacher that we could no longer be accommodated on Sundays, Saturdays or weekday evenings going forward, as she has regulars who are booked in our usual slot, and we were then told that her regulars had been on holiday throughout September and that was the only reason we had been accommodated to date. This was the first I had been informed this. I am slightly annoyed that they allowed me to book in for so many lessons, take my money and let my little girl get used to attending and used to the teacher, to now be told we can’t be accommodated anymore going forward and that basically we had just filled a gap for them. I am fully aware of how difficult it must be adapting to Covid and that they are limited to smaller numbers, but if they had slightly better organisational skills and had communicated this from day one this could have been avoided. The stables has great potential with the exception of one staff member letting the place down.

Hi Emma, I am so sorry you did not have a good experience with us, I strive to make our stables the best it can be. I have spoken to The member of staff you have mentioned who was very upset at the news of unhappy customer and she felt that she has answered all your concerns before you left , obviously this was not the case. During the Time of Covid we have had to lower our number of available spaces for lessons and it appears that you may have felt the effect of this. I hope in the future We will not be restricted in numbers. We are doing what We can in the current climate If you can think of anyway I can try to redeem the situation or wish to discuss this matter Further please do not hesitate to contact me at Info@wythenshaweparkridingstables.co.uk

A VERY FRIENDLY PLACE
Jun 2020
So glad you're open again after lockdown.
my daughter has been come hear for awhile now and i would fully recommend to anybody who was looking for a riding school. The staff and young leaders are both friendly and welcoming. My daughter was quite shy when she started but thanks to Serena and all the staff her confidence has grown.
So i just wanted to Thank you All and let everybody know what a wonderful place this is.

A wonderful riding school
Jun 2020 • Solo
I have ridden at Wythenshawe Park for a few years now and would 100% recommend these stables to anyone. My riding ability and confidence has improved so much through the brilliant teaching, and my Mum and I love to hack out in the fields and woodlands in the park. The horses are much loved and so well cared for by everyone at the yard, with a special thanks going to Beth and Ethan for always going the extra mile to make our ride safe and enjoyable

Slightly disappointed
Oct 2019 • Family
My daughter had been really looking forward to riding for the first time, however she suffers from severe anxiety and when we arrived she was quite nervous. She was called to her horse and she began to get quite nervous. She was rushed to get on by a red head woman who had complete disregard for how she was feeling she told her ‘you need to get on now because you’re holding up the lesson, if you don’t you won’t be able to ride’ despite my explanation of her anxiety I still felt upset at the way she was treated. However two of the guides who I believe were called Lacie and Charley were very kind and understanding to my daughter and took their time and patience to calm her down and get her to get her on the horse. Needless to say she adored her lesson and at the end the brunette guide let her feed the horse a carrot and stroke it. This really stuck with her and built up her confidence. Apart from the incompetence of some of the staff, the others really make up for it and are a credit to the riding stables.

Would recommend for anyone!!!
Jul 2018 • Solo
I regularly have lessons including Will today and they are all lovely and friendly and each one has taught me more about riding and helped me in my progress even though I am an experienced rider coming back to riding after many years break. Great place to have a lesson whatever level of rider you are !!!! The horses are of course stars!

Fantastic place to learn to ride!
Jul 2018 • Family
My daughter (9 years) and I have been taking lessons here since January, and this review is long overdue as we always have such a positive experience. The horses are exceptionally well cared for, with each being cherished for their individuality. Every member of staff I have met has shared this genuine affection for all of the horses, and part of the welcoming feel of the stables is the staff's enthusiasm to share their passion for both riding, and the animals you'll meet there.
Our lessons are normally with Brad, and he always ensures that each rider, no matter how many lessons they have had, feels safe, has fun and leaves the arena happy and confident in their progress.
Today our lesson was with Will. Despite it being his first session with the group, he immediately put everyone at their ease, explained what we needed to do clearly and gave immediate feedback which was easy to follow and implement. In common with Brad, he has a calm demeanour and lively sense of humour which manages to mix the right amount of banter with clear instruction. He uses directed and focused praise really well. When chatting about the lesson afterwards, my daughter and I agreed he'd help us realise not just when, but why we were getting things right. As usual we can't wait to go back next week!

The worst ride ever
Jun 2018 • Friends
My friend and I ( both 21 years old) went for a one hour ride around the park and here is my opinion about it.
First of all, the ranch with all due respect is so dirty and old. Second, when we booked the ride over the *Phone* we were not told that an assesment is required for you to ride alone; this information should be provided ahead of time over the phone, I should't be checking every outlet they have to know every single information. Hence, this whole ride we were guided by three girls walking our horses for the whole hour! That certainly felt awaful and we felt like little children. In addition, there was no professionalism in communication since one of the guides kept talking with the other guides about her personal life without even trying to communicate with the riders; that made us riders silent the whole time. Moreover, our appointment was at 12 and they told us to come 10 minutes earlier and we did, yet they didn't bring the horse until it was 12:20 without giving us any explanation.
I would not come again nor advice anyone to come in there; the worst ride ever

Rasha, Sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed yourself at our stables. As you are now aware all riders must partake in a riding assessment before being able to be ride in our 275 acres open park land, As i'm sure you would understand that your safety will always come first. I apologise that our stables are old but this is due to that we are based on a National Heritage site and we are unable to update the buildings due to heritage law.The staff at the stables will spoken to about their conduct whilst taking out guided rides. We at Wythenshawe Park Riding stables try our best to ensure everyone who uses our facility has a enjoyable experience as you can see from our other reviews. If you wish to discuss this further please call me on 07876555528. Damon Atkinson
