I was really interested to check out Chinatown in Manchester. Sadly, it seemed scruffy, run down, rather faded signs in need of a face lift.

Have only visied one restaurant in Chinatown and we can't bring ourselves to try another! Red Chilli is fantastic....the entrance is situated on a corner and you would probably miss it if you weren't looking for it! The food here is not to be missed!

Unless you want to eat in a Chinese Restaurant,( the Yang Sing is highly recommended), this area really is not worth making a special effort to see.

Great place to visit with a great selection of restaurants and cafes, supermarkets full of traditional Chinese ingredients and cooking utensils and shops with traditional gifts and kickbacks. Visit this area regularly

Lots of places to eat but most provide the same standard and level of service, which is just average. Some places don't really care. Lots of character but a bit dirty

The craft shop does have a small selection of traditional Chinese dresses - it's situated directly opposite the pagoda and gardens.
