It's my first time in Manchester..It's the first and last time I come here ... I went for a drink about 8:30 in the afternoon (apart from the face she had, depressed, not wanting to work and it's a manager..) (fence manager) and then I went to another bar ... when I came back at night I see the manager told the porters not to let me in until the porters themselves were surprised by the decision of their supervisor ... their problem is their girlfriend, it turns out that the manager she was jealous of myself or she was afraid that I would take his girlfriend or something , but it is not a reason for not to let me in, you have to separate the work with the relationships you have outside of work .. I am going to spend my money and have a good time in your bar and they receive you like this (well honey if you don't want to take your girlfriend away, don't take her out on the street) leave her at home

Went in on Thursday for the first time on the way home from work to see if this was somewhere I would like to go with friends on the weekend. I arrived about 7:30 to find the place empty, and asked if I could order a cocktail. The girl behind the bar told me that they didn’t do cocktails much. “Really?!” I asked surprised because the landing page for the bar on the internet is their cocktail menu, and indeed the signage outside advertises cocktails, and she was standing in front of a bar of liquor. She asked what I was after, and when I said a mojito (which was on the menu), she told me that they didn’t do that. So I took the “hint” and left the two staff to enjoy their empty bar. I was disappointed given that the reviews had mentioned the friendly service (which would have to offset the undeniably dated décor). I do not know why I was refused service, but can only assume it was because I was over 40?! If so, this means that while Vanilla may be advertised as where the girls are, it is clearly where the women aren’t wanted.

Clearly not a Mecca for lgbt following or a Mecca for lesbians. Absolutely awful. Tacky and outdated design. Small and looks like it could do with a good clean. Plastic furniture and small bar. Total let down.

I had the most amazing time in Manchester because of this bar and the ladies running it! It was my first time in the city - I was there for a conference and didn't know anyone. I thought about checking out Vanilla since it is the only place in the Village just for women (men have to come in with a lady). The place has great music and the staff is incredibly helpful and sweet. I went in alone and always felt safe and included as everyone was friendly and looks out for each other. I would recommend Vanilla to any girl heading to Manchester! Also their Gin Balloons are amazing :) I look forward to going back soon.
