Small area but really cool

This area is only a few buildings. We thought it would be bigger. It was worth seeing and walking around in a building that old though.

This area is only a few buildings. We thought it would be bigger. It was worth seeing and walking around in a building that old though.

had two meals here and both good value, pies a specialty. good ales on tap and ciders, soft drinks, etc. good spot at the very edge of the arndale centre if you don't want a food hall meal. service very good.

Situated between Selfridges and the Cathedral one finds a collection of Black and White buildings forming two sides of a square which is known as The Shambles.Apparently these are a relatively receive the addition to this spot in the city and it does provide the tourist with a quiet place to spend a little time ( weather permitting)On the day... If youre into interesting arcitecture, restaurants, bars and shops, then this area is for you, though can get a little crammed in peak tourist season!

Nice pint of lager £2.20 a pint and a great sun trap if you visit in the summer and sit outside. I visit weekly when I go shopping in Manchester.

Cheap pint, good crowd! That's all you need. A great spot in winter and summer and has a good history to the place. Its always a winner.

The Shambles is now the " entertainment" hub of Manchester. Around it are other bars, restaurants and cafes. There is a vibrancy about this area which is probably missing in other parts of central Manchester. At the heart is the Shambles pub--historic and so tastefully decorate. this is such a lovely area , the buildings are fabulous , and it seems to always bring nostalgic memories of years gone by , it has never changed much , still has a buzzing feel to it and is a wonderful meeting place , with lots to do .
