The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

I enjoyed my visit, but mainly because of the experiment area. The majority of the exhibitions were the same as they where when I was younger and it felt bare at times.

Lots to see and things to do. The cafe and restaurant are a little expensive especially if going as a family.

I have been to the museum several times previously and I cannot fault the exhibits or the staff; its a lovely place to visit. This review its solely based on Christmas do hosted at the museum earlier this month. I'm unsure if the museum brought in outside catering/waiting staff for the event; however if they did I would urge them... More

It´s nice, big, free... Perfect on going program / animations. The exhibition is placed in 5 old buldings and it was cold inside, as we vistited it in November. Keep your coats with. At least 1/2 a day is needed to tra all "hand on" things. There is also a good restaurant and we had family menu which was very... More

There was plenty going on when we visited with our eight year old son and he found it quite fascinating. I personally thought that some of the displays were looking a little tired and some were broken so there is a need for some investment to fix and update certain areas. The Air and Space Hall is a great place... More

Myself and my two children have visited MOSI on a number of occasions. It keeps my 13yr old and 5yr old equally occupied. With several different buildings each representing a different period or innovation it's very informative also. My only slight gripe would be that it is not refreshed often enough with new exhibits but otherwise well worth a visit.

Museums have come a long way since I was a kid. Gone are the glass cases and do not touch signs. These days you are met with lots of interactive activities that are not only great for children but equally fun and informative for the adult. Best of all it is free to get in.

Spent an hour wandering around the museum. I can see the museum being great for school children to learn about science and physics. Enjoyed learning about the textile industry in years gone by.

When it's raining outside, kids driving you mad but low on income. This is a great place to go. You can always make great memories at the museum.
