The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

been coming to this museum since i was little. Even though the attractions never really change all that much you still don't get bored of it. Great for all ages.

You could spend a whole day here, it is vast. Do watch whatever demonstrations are on and pray that you get Judy as the presenter - wow is she great - with adults and kids. The gift shop is appropriately well stocked and it is worth popping in if you stuck for ideas for a present, any time of year.... More

Definitely one of the better museums in Manchester. Lots of great exhibits, well presented (even if the chronology seems a little skewed in the great Hall).

Very cool museum! But hot like a sauna! Especially if the steam engine is on, 2 in 1 visit I guess. Nice staff and a museum that is worth a visit.

It's ok I suppose for adults, but if your a kid it must be amazing. you don't have to make a donation. I wished I was a child again and didn't already know a lot of the information on offer. I really enjoyed the experiment area as I'm a child at heart
