The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

Lots of interactive activities and lots of interesting facts to learn. Great for a family visit and the food in the cafe is also very nice.

It's free entry and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. A steam train story ride which is great £4 adults and £3 for kids over 2. Very interesting and informative but unable to go in and look close up to the steam trains and planes etc which is rather frustrating for a 3 year old. They have a cafe... More

This place was neat! I did think it was going to be a bit better but I did love the old machines part and demonstrations. It was laid out nice with good decor. I think one visit was enough to see it and for a few hours was good.

We visited the museum recently and as always had a fab time! We went on the new Air 360 which was fab, yet overpriced! I'd feel sorry for a family with lots of children walking past it. The underground bit was closed due to refurbishment and that's our favourite part, but it's our own fault for not checking! It's closed... More

I've been here a few times - for events such as Science in the City Late, to hackathons and for trips with friends. Their displays are very interactive and informative. MOSI also makes a great venue for events.

We visited with 2 young children age, 2 &5, they loved the train, 2 adults and 2 kids, was £12.00, bit prices for a 100 yard ride but was the highlight! Not sure we'll visit again anytime soon, the kids loved the Manchester museum!

The engine hall is the highlight for me, but there's a lot more to it and I'm sure something of interest for just about anyone. The friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff make it all the better.

We stopped here for a quick coffee and cake. It's a great setting for a cafe, with friendly staff. And if it's sunny outside, the outdoor tables are in such a sun trap. Coffee great, cakes ok... It hit the spot.
