The museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

There were a lot of roadworks around MOSI and the MOSI car park was shut, parking was a bit of a nightmare! We did find a car park nearby for £5 so not too bad. In the entrance area there are screens where you can take your own picture and then see them displayed on the larger screens which is... More

Fantastic place. If your short of something to do this summer with the kids. Visit here it's fantastic and the main museums are free. The victorian underground and the aeroplanes and trains are the best for us. You can get up close to everything Well worth a visit.

Interesting for a group on a rainy day. It's really cold in there though, maybe because it's indistriul building.

Great facilities and good air con in the conf room on the hottest day of the year. The building and the museum looked great and very educational.

We heard about this museum through colleagues and visited on a Friday. It's free to enter with an opportunity to make donations to the running of the museum. There are lifts and stairs to all floors so access for everybody is not a problem. There is a cafe downstairs but the restaurant upstairs served great tea and really tasty home... More

Came with the kids for something to do. Free entry so is always a bonus. Kids loved doing all of the experiments and took enjoyment from learning. The food area is nice and clean and the pizzas they make onsite are lovely. All the kids had a great day and there is something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit with... More

Its a must if you fancy a great day out with the kids and its free, although donations are suggested. We took a packed lunch and used the new picnic area in the air and space hall, we were wowed by a fighter jet simulator which spins 360 degrees, we didn't have a go as our children are too young,... Love that it spread out over the entire site. Suits children of all ages, the staff have a passion for what they are doing and love to pass their knowledge on. My son still lives the bit as you walk in where you load your image on the main screens, your own living art work. Both of them love doing... More
