Walking from Burnage/Withington to Didsbury I decided to cut across via the park. I noticed a plethora of activities from an excellent children’s play area , a cafe ( not sure it was open ) nice ponds with ducks , interesting trees and birds and plenty of prams, joggers and dogs on leads. The place had a nice relaxed atmosphere and is much larger than it first appears . Not too wet need to do more steps and got a spare half an hour ? Ideal

Easily accessible by at least 4 points, this large park has ample areas to play and picnic, and gets the summer sun for most of the day. There is a kids playing area, and also a lovely cafe with outside seating. There are events such as a classic car show and the Didsbury festival which take place in the summer months. Very safe, but note no lights when it gets dark, and the Gillbrook road entrance is locked on friday and saturday nights. Please also note that there are houses in close proximity to the park so please be mindful of noise levels especially at night.

Lovely little park, well designed, surprisingly well maintained. Nice to see parents and children there.

I have poor balance and need to use a walker (rollator). I didn’t feel very safe as the place was dominated by dogs, too many of them off lead and not watched by owners chattering to friends. It was off putting to have to watch so many dogs defacating.

I’ll avoid it in future. It was never planned to be a dog compound.

lived near here for many years, spent my childhood here and now i take my own son. The play park could do with updating (i remember when it was the old one so this is definitely an improvement).
There is a surestar/childrens centre which i use regularly and a bowls field or two for the bowling players amongst the errr.... bowling community.
Its safe for the kids, totally flat so easy to bike/scoot around, nice wide paths, football field, basket ball hoops etc.
Didsbury festival is held here each June and is great fun.
Its situated right behind didsbury village (nip down any of the side streets and you can take a nice stroll there, or just walk down the side of the shell petrol station and your there), there are plenty of entrances so you can easily get to school lane, the village, the university etc.

Not much else to say other than it is a great little piece of inner city green space, it's nice. You'll enjoy if you are local but I wouldn't suggest you fly from another part of the world with the sole purpose of going to disbury park.

Didsbury Park is lovely it reminds me a little of the 'Secret Garden' because of how hidden it appears, I don't think of at as a run around park but it is well maintained and the cafe in it is lovely too. Love the fact it feels community lead.

Although not a big park this place was heaving on a bank holiday.

Liked how popular it was and how everyone there seemed to care. The fact that the council invests in the place with staff working a bank holiday clearly helps.

Great cafe if you want food/drink with good prices also.
